Lou Diamond Phillips Playing a Native American, Again???

I figured they could have found a real Native American actor.

reply

He's part Cherokee...what did you want hhim to play a Russian or something. And even though he is mixed he looks more Indian than a lot of the ones on the res I live next to so why not.

reply

He's a Filipino man with a relative that claims Cherokee ancestry.
BTW: The Cherokee nation has very weak guidelines on that matter.
Everybody and their brother can claim to be part Cherokee.
If you can prove that a relative of yours used the same spoon as a Cherokee Indian. I'm certain you'll qualify.

reply

Hey "dude" quite obvious you came here looking for a fight. There's no reasoning with you. Why bother trying. smh

reply

I'd rather see a real actor like Phillips in the role than yet another monotonous-voiced, expressionless, stiff Native American "actor".

reply

Who would you have suggested? Graham Greene already had a big role in the show. So did A Martinez. So did Zahn McClarnon. If the creators wanted a big name, the only others I can think of are Wes Studi and Rodney Grant. I can’t exactly see either of them in the role of Henry Standing Bear and maybe they weren’t available or interested.
