50 Cent movies always suck

I just saw FREELANCERS and it was without a doubt De Niro reaching rock bottom, a horrible movie. I watched about half of SET-UP, a year ago, it was that bad. 50 Cent is about like Uwe Boll in as much as he makes unwatchable movies, but manages to get top notch actors. Why, though is Bruce Willis doing this one, didn't he learn his lesson from SET-UP, is he trying purposely to go into DTD movies.

I saw Freelancers too, and while I thought it was bad, I thought it was one of De Niro's better performances from recent times.

You're right though, any film with 50 Cent sucks.

reply

You site 2 movies as your entire reason for hating an actor? Yeah, good luck with that argument. Why not try looking into something like All Things Fall Apart, his parts in 13, and Righteous Kill. He's not doing movies any better or worse than most of what Bruce Willis has coming out lately (ironically, they both star in a number of them together).

reply

He's not an actor though.
And yeah, word OP.

reply

I'm pretty sure when you ACT in something, you are an ACTOR. English not your forte?

reply

13 was a horrible movie too.

reply

He is in this film for no more than 5 minutes, it is a cameo appearance.

reply

Yes pretty much a cameo from both him, Rampage Jackson and Vinnie Jones tbf, this is a good movie well worth a watch I gave it an 8 could have gotten higher if not having been a predictable quite generic outcome.

reply

I think he is retarded or smth..

reply

This one was a quite good action movie. Freelances was okay. Get Rich or Die Trying was pretty good. 13 was good. Set-Up was just okay.
Actually I have not seen a really bad one with 50 Cent, but generic ones. Especially when he has the leading role (except for Get Rich...).

And Uwe Boll makes entertaining movies, not good ones, but entertaining. Their either funny on purpose (Postal) or great to make fun of.

Wouldn't say De Niro hit rock bottom. I think your letting 50 Cents performance drag him down, as he and Whitaker actually made the movie from my point of view.

Don't know what Willis is doing in these small movies. It does help them that he's in there but still, he must have better movies offered. But maybe he'd rather have smaller roles for the time being, or no time for bigger parts.

I agree, not much of a part for 50.

reply

Well someone in the movie business seem to like him since he keeps getting these parts!!!

this movie, fire with fire, wasn't that bad and 50 cent wasn't that bad either but only like someone said before, his only scene was like 2 minutes long. the only reason he acted in this movie was because of his production company, cheetah films or something. as far as his other movies where he has large parts in them, i couldn't watch them. way too awful. i couldn't finish freelancers, gun or dead man running. even righteous kill was pretty bad. but he wasn't half bad in get rich or die tryin for some reason. i do think he's getting better at acting though.

He keeps getting the parts because he owns/founded Cheetah Vision, the production company. He got a 10 picture deal with Grindstone/Lionsgate so there are a couple more movies to come.

I Am Wrath (2014)

I have not yet seen this film but agree with the sentiment, 50 Cent films are *beep* I look through the comments and see someone say that 13 was good, it wasn't it was very very bad. As was Righteous Kill. And Freelancers, not sure if it was De Niro hitting rock bottom as any film I have seen him in in the last few years was barely watchable but yes Freelancers was incredibly poor. And yes, it does seem that 50 Cent appears in films with good actors but the films are invariably bad.

reply

I didn't watch Setup because I can't stand 50 Cent. I don't know what Bruce Willis is doing taking roles in lots of straight to DVD films, he's probably only doing Die Hard 5 and Red 2 to get some credit back. De Niro is still my favourite actor of all time and he hasn't really done anything worth mentioning since the late 1990s to early 2000s. Surely they aren't both this desperate for the paycheck. 50 Cent will next be on screen next year in the Stallone/Schwarzenegger collaboration The Tomb a prison film and apparently 50 Cent payed the producers $2 Million for a role.
