Why is everyone hating so hard?

I thought it was a fantastic movie. My only complaint was that the young Dawson looks nothing like James Marsden. Other than that I really enjoyed it. Everyone's so harsh.

I agree, I loved it.

because James Maesden couldn't even try being Paul Walker and liana Liberato was an overrated bitch

Here's a few huge reasons why I hated it:

No build-up. They are immediately attracted to each other and somehow that translates to love.

When Amanda is yelling at Dawson at the prison and the guard says you have to go (or something to that effect) she says ok. If this was Allie in the Notebook she would have ignored the guard, continued to pound on the glass and scream at Dawson--things like you don't walk away from me, you don't get to decide this etc... For a character who supposedly tries to visit someone every day for a month I find it hard to believe they would give up so easily In this situation especially by just saying ok and walking calmly away at someone's suggestion.

After being so angry with someone for twenty years it takes about 20 seconds for her to be convinced to forgive him? Really?

Dawson finally gets what he's wanted for twenty years---namely Amanda, and after one phone call he gives it all up out of chivalry? After he just slept with a married woman? (No qualms about pursuing her and then committing adultery with her) Now all of a sudden he's concerned about the greater good?

Amanda supposedly has a huge problem for twenty years about Dawson making her decision for her. Now Dawson does it again (in the last porch scene) and it's all ok?

Then the last 25 minutes were beyond even the fringes of believability. So not only does her son suddenly need a heart transplant, but immediately one becomes available, her son is apparently first on the waiting list, the blood type, etc matches and it's also Dawson's? Right...

Don't get me wrong I enjoy being transported to another reality for 2 hours; but not to a completely different dimension where reality isn't even close to being a factor!

Will you serve the nuts? I mean will u serve the guests the nuts?

OP/Hannah - how old are you...12? That might explain why you liked it so much.

Not everyone.

Random self-pity story for the bored:

My only dislike is that my now ex-boyfriend agreed to see this movie alone with a female friend while we were dating and didn't want to mention it, but she did and told me how they were joking together about how couples in the audience were "gonna bang" after the movie, because of the romantic content and I was irked that they went probably as a couple and I never knew if she was telling me because I should know or if she wanted to irritate me. Then I found out they were spending a lot of alone time together. He dumped me btw. Oh well. I'll try to watch it one day maybe without bias.

The reason is because Paul Walker was originally cast as the adult Dawson, a great match with young Dawson imo, but he died before filming so they had to recast his part.

I couldn't even focus on the movie because the younger and older Dawson looked nothing alike. Once I saw the younger character that was it for me. I couldn't even give it a chance.
