Had a feeling this one was gonna be like that.

Is anyone shocked this sucks? Afterlife was bad and the trailers for this looked really lame.

reply

not shocked at all.
won't be supporting this pointless milking

reply

I’m surprised it isn’t lower, this and Afterlife are nothing but shameless cash grabs dressed up as inspired passion projects.
Shame on Paul Rudd for being a greedy industry whore, and fuck Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd for selling out.

reply

They don't care 😄

reply

Too true.

It's funny that Murray has spent three decades turning down offers to do bad ghostbusters films and all the fans have blamed him for holding up the franchise, then he does these two to prove he's not a stick in the mud and the fans call him a sell out.

reply

Some fans “have blamed him….” Lord Rake, not all fans, try not to generalize as it’s not a good look.
Some fans wanted a steaming pile of shit LOTR series from Prime while some fans were content with the pot of gold that Peter Jackson gave us.
You can count me in with the pot of gold crowd for the OG Ghost Busters and LOTR, I never wanted or needed anything else because the source material fills my cup and is always there to drink from when I’m thirsty for wholly original material that was crafted with heart and soul, not dollar signs and lazy, uninspired ideas.
And after three decades of being a responsible keeper and protector of a beloved franchise which some of us fans have been much appreciative of, Murray has become the very thing he’s been actively avoiding all these years, a sell out industry whore who has soiled the very thing he was trying to protect.

TheGaydian.com loved Girlbusters 2016 and Empireonline liked GB 2016.

maybe there's some payback on this for not continuing with their beloved remake (but then I think Empire a good review to Afterlife as well)

reply

After watching, I would say it shares quite many similarities with Ghostbusters 2. It has memorable scenes and continues what you loved about the first one, but something feels not right. Nothing really bad, but also nothing which makes you a fan. Like the first soft-reboot a 6 of 10.
If you didn't liked the first soft-reboot, here is nothing for you except even more nostalgia bait.

reply

Yeah, this one isn't as good as the last one. 6/10 from me.
