Most horror films are around 5-6-ish rating (or lower) but this is a 7.4 which is pretty high for a horror film, why? Especially when the previous films in the franchise (except for the first couple) were really low.
I'll let you know Sunday after I see it.

Personally I give it a 5/10.
lots of movies start out strong with the ratings on IMDB due to the fact that the fans of the franchise are the first to see it, then the general public and casuals start to rate it on IMDB & the rating evens out,
it's down to a 7.2 now and will probably finish in the 6ish range
a week later and still crazy high, must be bots
shareBecause its an outlier on the series that has more of a positive vibe than the cynical previous entries that had more mean spirited endings.
I prefer the mean spirited endings.
