I miss my physical keyboard
When working on the run via email, that physical keyboard was gold.
With touch screen, I spend more time correcting auto-correct than typing the email in the first place.
I started a new job in 2009 and had my choice of a Blackberry or an iPhone 3. So glad I went with Apple....
shareObjectively, any smartphone is going to better than the old BlackBerry. But for work, literally the only single thing I use it for is email. Without the need for any other smartphone app, the BlackBerry was much more efficient for me.
shareI agree, I get the typos too. Most common: putting a “k” where there should be an “l” 😤😤😤
When I can, I use voice dictation but that is not always practical in public. I think AI will be helping these typo issues going forward.
For me it's usually an i instead of an o and b instead of m.
shareI used Blackberry phones as dedicated work devices with Android phones as personal smartphones for many years. Like you, I almost exclusively used Blackberry for calls and emails; paired with that tactile physical keyboard, the emailing experience was terrific.
shareIt was the pinnacle of text based communication, in my opinion.
