Never seen a series fall so between 2 seasons

I seen a lot of tv series and they had varied quality, also between seasons quality have waverd up, down, or stayed the same. But this is the first time i watched a season 1 that was brilliant, really really good stuff hitting everything right, and season 2 that is so far from any of it, im wondering if i am watching the same show even. Im curious, how come this series fell so very very hard from magnificent to .... mostly annoying? Maybe you found the season 2 good, and thats fine. But personally, i find that season 2 could not be liked in any aspects and should never been made. They should have ended the show with season 1.

I thoroughly enjoyed both seasons equally.

I liked S2, but I do have to agree that S1 was brilliant, while S2 left much to be desired.

I absolutely loved season 1 and 2. Granted, season 2 took a different path, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable one.

I agree about the dropoff (I gave up after two episodes), but I HAVE seen such a dropoff before. "Orange is the New Black" comes immediately to mind, but I'm sure I can come up with others, if I think about it for a while. Usually, a show with a great first season can sustain a quality product for at least two or three seasons, but not always. Can anyone else think of shows that they thought plummeted in quality after the first season?

Totally agree. Season one was addictive. Season 2 was weak. The legal proceedings were rubbish, so many times you had to suspend disbelief that supposedly intelligent people said or did ridiculous things, and the outcome was absurd. Such a shame.

Season 2 was actually quite good in its own right

Amazing cinematography, still amazing characters

The problem is that Season 1 is a masterpiece of storytelling

Kept me glued, super emotional, incredible music

It hit you in the gut. Perfect

Season 2 falls only if you compare it to that special special Season 1

But it's a good season with a few really exaggerated court scenes though
