No Kevin Conroy?

Forget all those other guys. Without Kevin Conroy, this "Batman" cannot reach its' proper heights of awesomeness. 'Nuff said!

I love Kevin Conroy as Batman. He is the vocie I hear when reading comics.

But he is not the right choice for every incarnation. DKR needed a new voice, because it is such a different Batman story. Going back to the old standard voice would just not have been the right choice.

And I have to give Deitric Bader a ton of credit. His version of Batman for Brave and Bold was spot on for that series. I don't think he gets nearly enough credit for it.

Agreed - unless Conroy declined the offer, I can't comprehend the reason why wouldn't have used him.

It was confirmed at Comic-Con that Kevin Conroy is coming back for at least one of the 2014 DC Universe Animated Original Movies. My bet is on Batman: Assault on Arkham to maintain continuity with the Arkham games. However, Son of Batman is certainly a possibility.

Much like Mark Hamill for the Joker, sometimes they just get tired of doing the voice.

Conroy would have been PERFECT as the 55 year old Bruce Wayne/Batman as seen in this two-part adaption of one of the greatest Batman stories ever told.

It's a shame he didn't provide his voice for this one.

Then again I have to say that Peter Weller's take isn't terrible and he actually suits the visuals. I watched it again recently and Weller's voice has grown on me quite a lot.

Conroy would have been great like I said - he definitely would have used something similar to his Batman Beyond Bruce Wayne voice....

EDIT: Oh and a few people have mentioned Michael Ironside's take on this version of Batman in that segment from The New Batman Adventures (part of Batman: The Animated Series) - and that guy certainly had a brilliant Batman voice. Loved it.
Anyway Peter Weller is up there with Kevin Conroy, Bruce Greenwood and Michael Ironside. All the other voice actors, whilst good in their own way, pale in comparison to those four.

look i don't have issue with others voicing batman, i just think this is one of if not the most popular batman story so my logic would be to use the guy most people most associate with batman

Just to add to this point, it would make SENSE to have Konroy play the Dark Knight for his last outing. It would be a wonderful way to retire Konroy's voice, along with a story for retiring the batman himself.

It is a good idea to change the voices that do characters yes, but NOT at the END of the Batman Saga. I read TDKR as a story that finishes what BAS in 1991 started. It is just silly to change up the voice for THIS particular story.

Change the voice yes. But not for a batman retires story. That is just plain stupid. Let Konroy retire the Batman. It would be far more fitting.

I loved the Conroy portrayals, but Weller did an excellent job as an older, sadder, wiser Bruce. Thumb up from me.

The same thing as the live movie reboots.

If its not the same universe, it doesn't have to be the same actor/voice actor.

As long as the voice actor sounds good as their character, it should be acceptable. I love Conroy as Batman but his Batman to me, is always more of the Batman in his prime days.

This movie is about a darker grittier future with a different Batman story line. If I heard Conroy in this movie, it wouldn't make sense because when I hear Conroy I immediately picture the Batman from The Animated Series or Batman Beyond. I think Peter Weller did a great job as old Batman and he also sounds better as an older Bruce.
