From what I have read, the supernatural elements sound pretty goofy. They should have done this as a realistic serial killer story.

The bulk of the movie involves realistic serial killer FBI investigation. It gets into the supernatural closer to the end, but nothing is explained outright. The film relies on the viewer filling in the blanks. I loved the movie. Just left the movie theater about 30 mins ago

I won't spoil - but yeah, the supernatural reveal at the end is the weakest part of the film

I was more engaged with all the ways Perkins makes this an engrossing 90's thriller- the atmosphere, camera work, all the ways it plays with shadow and all that were what put me on the edge of my seat. The supernatural stuff unfortunately just kinda made it fall into silliness.

I agree, it was really good until the ending and the silly devil stuff. I wish they would have made it more vague or just ditched the supernatural stuff. Still a good movie but a little frustrating because it could have been better.

The supernatural element is honestly the weakest part of it and takes an already kind of mid story down a notch.
