MASSIVE SPOILER: Not happy with how the ending went.

FULL SPOILER FOR ENDING INCOMING!

As many have predicted Bond dies at the end of the movie. Infected by Safin and then dies in a massive explosion. First of all, let me be clear that if done well I wouldn’t completely be against Craig’s Bond dying. But the way he died and the whole nonsensical element to the finale didn’t help.

Also, to then plaster “James Bond will return” up in the credits straight after felt wrong. Takes away from the death of Craig’s Bond and kinda nudges people towards the “James Bond is a codename” theories (theories which don’t hold up upon close inspection).

The stairway fight was a fantastic one shot. The ending sucks though, thoroughly depressing but it’s definitely done on purpose to get people talking and to build up this ‘keep the secrets’ publicity stunt they’re now doing.

I don’t think I ever want to watch that movie again, it’s the least fun Bond movie by far despite having some fantastic action.

I think whoever thought of the idea of killing Bond had just watched Logan and wanted an emotional impact ending.
