Sequel trilogy is the most racist episode in Hollywood history.
I believe TLJ is a good place to raise this issue, because it marked a detour from the intended plan. I believe JJ lies that they had no plan. I believe they had a story for the whole trilogy in mind while they were doing TFA already. At that stage, Finn (Boyega) was supposed to have a greater role, was so obviously force sensitive, because Kylo Ren was able to sense him, read his mind and even knew his designation number by heart. Also, Finn went the distance with Kylo during a lightsaber fight. Also, I'm sure he and Rey would hook up, because the movie was very explicit about them having taken a shine to each other.
And then, TFA earned only 124 million in China, and China is a place where commercials portray how black people turn into Han Chinese after a run in the washing machine. So, they reduced him to a sidekick character. The desexualized both him and Rey, and made a big mess of the franchise. I'm sure Rian Johnson would have been able to make a decent movie had he not received the memo from the management to sideline the black character.
And then they deflected the flak about their own anti-black racism by claiming the fans were hating on Kelly Marie Tran because of her Asian background. But in fact, the Sequel Trilogy, or at least its last two installments, should be pilloried as the most racist movies in Hollyowood history.
