So how does this relate to the first two "Cloverfield" movies?
And for that matter, how did the second one relate to the first one?
Do they all just vaguely take place in the same universe? That could probably be said about nearly any randomly picked movies that have nothing to do with each other.

shareI like 2 and 3. The first one I couldn't watch because the found footage thing makes me ill, literally, but I did like the idea.
The event which happens in the first ties all three together loosely.
I think 2 was definitely the best for me.
The 3rd one was, in my opinion, a fun tribute to all things Sci-fi.
Two sucked big time! What a letdown of a movie. First one “Cloverfield” was the best & is the standard in which I’ll judge any & all sequels. Nuff said.
