Is Octavius supposed to be gay?

Octavius keeps trying to hold Jedediah's hand and Octavius makes comments about the color of a guy's eyes...

He's done these types of things more than once which leads me to believe he's supposed to be gay or is this a joke?

Idk. Either way, he was awesome :)
I would like it if they had a gay character, I like when they promote equality in movies like this with younger viewers.

I think the writers must've cottoned on to the whole slash phenomenon and just slipped the jokes in to keep the slash fans happy. Speaking AS a slash fan, they DID keep me happy! ;)
