Does anybody find the theme song not only terrible...

But does not fit the show at all? To me the song is so out of place...

Anyway, I like season 1 better than season 2.

I love it, especially the lyrics.

I have never seen an opinion so one sided. I haven't seen anyone who likes the song. They need to LOSE it. Keep the lyrics if they want -- but everything has to go.

I binge watched all of the episodes. My verdict: I get the 'art' and logic of the song, but can't stand it. I fast forward through the opening credits every time.
Next season, when I watch live. I'll mute the opening credits.

I like the song, lol I think it sounds cool. I guess I kinda think it fits because the lyrics sound like poetry to me and Noah is a writer :] I guess I could also get deep and say maybe it parallels the show because it seems to be about one person accidentally causing a tragedy for some other people that later led into something even deeper. I kinda imagine it being from Alison's point of view perhaps. Especially the way it says "I've only one thing to do, be a wave and sink back into the ocean" or something. It's like, I just came in and caused drama then I kinda start to disappear or something, lol.

This makes no sense to me. How can this song NOT be perfect for the show?

"I was screaming
into the canyon
at the moment of my death

the echo I created
outlasted my last breath
My voice, it made an avalanche
and buried a man I never knew
and when he died, his widowed bride met your daddy
and they made you."

Unintended consequences come from selfish decisions and they affect more people than you just by choosing that selfish decision in the first place.

Yeah, they should've commissioned, if not something that sounds good, at least something relevant. This is what Fiona Apple came up with after seeing only the pilot, so of course she had no idea what was going on. I don't know why, if Levi and/or Treem wanted her (inexplicable in itself IMO), they didn't tell her something about the storyline. But clearly no one did.

"He's a man, he's got a face, he can go outside..."

It's the worse theme song I've ever heard in my life. It gives me the chills in a very negative way when I accidentally hear it. I usually make sure I forward pass the theme. An absolutely HORRIBLE song to listen to, but strangely enough I think it fits the subject matter and aesthetic of the show.

Have you heard the Homeland theme song? Nothing's worse than that. I will run from another room and lunge for the remote to FF Homeland credits. They make me physically ill.

reply

Death would be sweet relief every time I hear the diseased swill which is that song.

The tune grates on me a bit but I love the haunting lyrics. If I heard the song standalone and I only heard it every now and then I'd think it remarkably striking and unique. Probably not something I'd put on to relax to, though! It's a billion times better than the opening credits for Homeland, which make me want to jump out of a window.

It's too cerebral! We're trying to make a movie here, not a film!
