Who did they snub this year? Why don't they just insert TCM Remembers in lieu of this yearly train wreck? Bette Mildler was sublime.

I was a little angry that they snubbed director Ted Post, who passed away in August.

Well said, KingofSiam. I think they put an end to the individual ovations after 1995, when Raul Julia got much, much, much louder applause than any of the others.

Ralph Waite, Pete Seeger, Jay Robinson, Allan Arbus, Russell Johnson, Mike Road and John Calvert.

Why does the control room mute the audience's applause now? That started a few years ago. The Golden Globes doesn't do it, and the obits is a better segment for that.

Also, Cory Monteith, James Avery, Russell Johnson -- these were all almost exclusively TV actors. This is the Academy Awards.
