I absolutely hated Gaetano Fadda (for most of the season) and in particular Oraetta Mayflower. What a despicable woman. The way Gaetano died was weird. But obviously it can happen.
Chris Rock was an absolute star in this. When i first read about his casting, i had serious doubts, but he was incredible.
I enjoyed this season, and i'm always a sucker for mob stories.
I agree on all points, though I found Oraetta somehow endearing, probably due to the actress portraying her as quirky rather than demonic. Like Anton Chigurh, she had her own code and stuck to it. She lived in her own world, that's for sure.
shareI can't support your view of Rocks acting, I thought he was awful. He's a living legend at stand-up, but I doubt this will secure him any more dramatic roles. Surprisingly, I thought his death was fairly convincing. I'll give credit where it's due.
shareI want to add that i thought the writing of the show was beautiful. The dialogue was absolutely superb. Hawley did not write everything, but he wrote part/half of every episode, and he is an incredible writer.
