He has been around a long time. A true movie star and an accomplished director. He is very believable in this movie as in all his movies. The overall movie may lack something but Costner performance carries it.

shareCostner is one of the few actors today that I will put on one of their movies because they are in it. In Criminal you saw him as a real bad guy ( like he was in 3000 Miles To Graceland), then gradually change to the good guy ( Taken 3 airport scene), and still did little subtitle things to define the character like the nose touching and saying "I will leave after making waffles" (Ryan Reynolds did both for Gal Gadot).

shareIt was a good performance because he's a seasoned actor but it seems he prefers roles where he can portray characters who are ultra-macho, tragic heroes. And that comes across as narcissistic.
