Finally saw it - what a different tone

The x men and wolverine movies were hokey and overly supernatural. This film was very different. It was real with minimal supernatural elements. Hugh Jackmans acting is the best it ever was. He wasn't so good in the other films - he killed it here. The number one villain in the film was old age not some super mutant or big government thoug that element was there.

Yeap, a grounded and dark tone film.

This was the direction I wish they would have gone with the apocalypse film, grounded, dark, and violent, hard R rating…, instead we got a steaming pile of hot garbage.

The realistic element was great. The other films were pure fantasy. This was made convincing enough to be set in the real world. Completely grounded though highly violent.
