Hey, call me crazy, but I loved it.

Sure there are flaws and stuff in this film but I can honestly say I enjoyed it. A lot.
Call me whatever names you like, but I thought it was great.

I agree, it was a good, solid horror movie. Not an over the top slasher fest. Well written and great cinematography with frightful implications - the rocking chair, the doll missing from the shelf etc. Much better than if the doll had a knife and was stabbing people

The scene in the basement where she tries to get upstairs on the elevator and the door keeps opening had me on the edge of my seat. VERY effective scene!

Overall this movie didn't seem that original but the creepy parts were very effective and I appreciate that they didn't use any real cheap gotcha scares.

I didn't like the movie but I thought that scene was very well done

I liked this movie too. I thought it was very good. I saw this movie in the theater on Halloween night 2014. It scared the crap out of me!!!!

Same. I enjoyed it more than the conjuring. Reminded me of the first Insidious. Great little horror flick. What was up with all the hate when it was released?

I liked that they actually tried to tell a story, rather than just 'something nasty is in the house, and now we're going to run you around the house with a bunch of jump scares for the next hour'.

I have nothing against those who liked this film, but I didn't find it scary or creepy or at all very interesting. It was slow and boring and Alfre Woodard's sacrifice at the end didn't even make sense.

I thought "The Conjuring" wasn't very good, either.

Like I said, no offense intended to those who like this films, I just don't think either of them are very good and certainly not at all scary.

Me too. Not sure why, exactly...........but it scared the hell out of me. And I like scary movies. This had an exorcist feeling. My advice.........don't watch it alone or at night. I'm only half way through...........but its a 6 or 7.

I'd honestly say I liked it quite a bit, not as much as "The Conjuring" though. Yet, there's something in this movie that's bugging me like the scene where they're invaded by these two psychos. I mean, why did the husband go out and then the wife follows him too? It's a bit stupid to be honest. And there's another cliché like why did she stop in the middle of the stairway when the demon is chasing you. But, I digress. It was quite creepy. 6/10
