Things I Learned From This Movie (SPOILERS)

1. When faced with a disturbance in the dark, NEVER turn on any room lights, just let the monster stalk you in the dark.

2. When threatened by a disturbance in the dark, NEVER scream for help, just keep quiet so you won't be saved.

3. When you KNOW something is after you, and it primarily comes/hides in the dark, ALWAYS leave most of the lights off, so it can easily get to you.

4. When you and your family members are in danger, NEVER stick together. ALWAYS sleep alone and explore rooms alone.

5. When a situation seems threatening, NEVER run away. ALWAYS approach the threat to see what it is.

6. When up to a dozen shotgun blasts fail to kill the creature, arm yourself with a hockey stick, cause that's sure to do the job.
