Most uninspired superhero movie I have ever seen

I just saw this movie for the first time. I wouldn’t necessarily call it boring but just really uninspired. I have enjoyed the other Marvel movies but this one just feels a bit pointless. I really don’t get who this movie is made for or what audience Marvel is trying to gain with this film. All the humor is like someone failing at making a joke and still expecting a laugh. The plot has no real stakes whatsoever. There is nothing interesting we learn about Natasha. Nothing really exciting or groundbreaking happens. No interesting villain. Nothing really important happens other than Natasha’s sister might become important in future Marvel projects. There is nothing romantic/sexy for those wanting to see Scarlett look hot (not saying she has to be sexualized, but many female-led action movies have the appeal of “hot girl kicks ass” and this doesn’t have that). Nothing really inspiring for girls who look up to her as a hero. Just a very dull movie that doesn’t really amount to anything. I would rather it be laughably bad than just okay.

THAT IS A FAIR ANALYSIS...WHILE I WISH I COULD ARGUE,I CANNOT...UNINSPIRED AND JUST OKAY ARE VERY APT WAYS TO DESCRIBE IT.

Face it, Marvel Films isn't good at writing for female superheroes. This movie is pretty dull, "Captain Marvel" wasn't much better, so to date, the only female-led project that's been entertaining has been the bizarre "Wandavision".

Wish I could agree with the OP, but it wasn't a superhero film. It felt to me more like Winter Soldier. A spy thriller with slight elements of superhero action (Red Guardian's scenes)

Yeah i agree. Just watched it. The reviews seemed to be lukewarm but I enjoyed it.

It basically is an origin story, and I always thought her story sounded interesting but they always seemed to have Black Widow as just a sidekick in the previous films. I mean when you think about it what would we get with a film about Thor's upbringing? Here there was an interesting, dark and sad backstory.

Only issue was it was released too late

reply

Yes, I agree. It should have been released between Civil War and Infinity War, as that is supposed to be the timeline it fits into.
