Cap does not have super powers

Stan Lee has explained this a hundred times. The super solder formula wore off years ago, Cap stays in shape through hard work and clean american values.

reply

That is dumb.

reply

Thanks for clarifying. Iron Man doesn't have super powers either. Its all in his suit that anyone can wear

reply

...and Hawkeye, Black widow

reply

And the Falcon

reply

You sure about this? I don't read Marvel, but whenever I see one of those 'who would win' debates about Captain America vs Batman, the argument 'Cap wouldn't ever get tired because of the super soldier formula, so he'd wear Batman down' always gets made by the Marvel fans.

reply

Cap looked pretty tired fighting Iron man.

reply

I was talking about the comics. When you said Stan Lee had explained it a hundred times, I took it that he'd said that about the comics.

reply

nah, he does

reply

In the movies he does!

reply

Then how did Batrok a normal man almost kick his ass.?

reply

Refresh my memory, who the hell is Batrok?

reply

The guy Cap fought on the boat in Winter Soldier.

reply

You mean the ship in the opening scenes? Oh, I thought that some of the people on the boat were "enhanced" like Cap, I mean someone even gets a look at the opposition and says "We have enhanced".

And I suppose a real martial arts expert could give Cap trouble, I mean he doesn't have SUPER superpowers, the serum just made him stronger and faster than anormal human being. According to the movies, that is, don't ask me about the comics.

reply

Yes, that's the one.

Cap isn't superpowered in the comics, the serum 'just' lets him do everything at peak human efficiency. As for the movies, he'd defnitely superpowered. Throwing (not just lifting, but actually throwing) a motorcycle to take down a soldier some considerable way off? Stopping a helicopter from taking off with his bare hands? I think he also ripped the door/hatch of a mini-sub straight off its hinges! 😂

reply

Now I do like the way the movies make it clear that Cap's most important superpower is his brain, that his powers aren't amazing but he uses them incredibly effectively, and he's leader of the Avengers because he understands how to use them strategically and not because he could kick anyone else's ass.

But yeah, I think there's a bit of a discrepancy between the movies and the comics when it comes to his powers, because the no-longer-enhanced guy in the comics offers no scope for special effects.

reply

Where did he 'almost kick Cap's ass'?

He did a few kicks for a couple of seconds before getting his ass whopped and KTFOed. Cap was literally toying with him both with the shield and after putting it away, and didn't get hurt or even fazed by his attacks. You can tell Cap is WAY more stronger and resilient than even the most well trained men with the way he rag dolls them as well as do things like throwing his bike and stopping choppers from taking off.

As for the OP, Cap is more of a metahuman, who are in-between non-powered SH (Batman, Hawkeye etc.) and full blown superheroes with power (Thor, Hulk etc.)

reply

That seems debatable to me. And I have read comics with him. A guy that can outfight even the best trained fighters and doesn't need to sit down right after is superpowered. Also, technically Joe Smon and Jack Kirby created Captain America in 1940 so, Stan Lee though he wrote more comics with him, isn''t the sole person to ask. Also, considering he was a weak man who took a serum that made him stronger and faster, that in of itself sort of is a superpower.

reply

And I have read comics with him.

Impossible.

reply

If Cap were still alive today, he'd vote Trump

reply

That's so cute of you to say something so, so, so, wrong and disingenuous. 🤣

Steve Rogers (AKA Le Capitane America) didn't like bullies.

On top of that, the real world person Chris Evans who played Steve Rogers? Well, I will leave that to your own personal use of the internet and a search engine.🙃🤓

reply

nope, unless he relies in the old american value of using steroids

reply

Cap has done nothing in the MCU that other action stars like Arnold hasn't done.
Have you seen Hemsworth in "Extraction"?
