Why does everybody hate the kids?

I thought they were awesome. Maybe I'm the only one...

She was okay, but the boy was just ridiculously annoying.

I really like both kids as well!!

... because the characters are irritatingly precocious, and think they're good at things when they aren't?

reply

Why does everyone hate the kids? Because they were the stupidest kids who ever lived! "Just climb into the oven, dear!" Well, who in the right mind does that? The girl wouldn't have been able to see to clean anything anyway because it would be pitch black inside. There were so many crazy scenes like that I began to see the whole movie as a sick comedy, like The Sex Life of the Belgians or something. Ruddy awful movie. However, the best scene was when the mother on Skype said "Those folks are not your grandparents!" I didn't see that coming!

reply

She was doing it to appease the crazy grandma, idiot.

reply

Your reply makes no sense. Why would she appease the crazy grandma, who is not her real grandma? What was the grandma going to do to her if she'd just refused? Why didn't she just go to the front door, open it, and leave? Suppose I'm faced with an angry bear, do I start reasoning with it, or do I run the f... away as fast as possible?!!

reply

You are not alone! I loved them! They were funny and witty and very well acted!

I am not a fan of child characters in 'Hollywood' movies.

Usually they're smart-mouthed mini adults who talk in an authoritative manner about things they couldn't possibly understand, in a p!ss-weak attempt to be cute and funny.

These kids were fantastic. I think M. Night writes remarkably good child characters. Obviously, Sixth Sense is a good example of this, but also Signs. Those kids were very likable.

I was especially impressed by Ed's performance. He was in a show over here, called Puberty Blues, and he was so annoying, I hated the little bugger, but he was doing exactly what the script asked for. He's incredibly gifted.

When that kid started rapping the SECOND time, I just shut the blu-ray off. Couldn't stand another minute of that annoying brat. The older girl was fine though.

give me a stage where this bull here can rage and though I can fight I'd much rather recite.

I was kind of annoyed with the boy at first, but I sometimes work with 11-12 year old kids at my church. They watch a ton of YouTube and some of them do act like this. So if it was annoying, I at least found it to be realistic.
