phantom menace

phantom menace has a legitimate claim to being the worst high budget film ever released by a major studio. apparently a bit of a consensus has formed out there that 'clones' is the worse film, but i can't accept that. phantom is worse in almost every way. it's completely inert, lifeless, has an annoying kid actor, & has 'yippee' as dialogue.

aotc at least has a bit of energy & drive. granted, it has that sand scene. and all the moments with those two are awful. they're both just horrible, awful films, among the worst ever made.

but phantom is a little bit more terrible by my reckoning.

I've come to the conclusion Justice League is....

Given its potential...Given Its Characters....Given Its direct competition in The Avengers that shows the quality a film like this could be...and Given the Pure AWFULNESS of the movie...

I just can not think of a Major Blockbuster release being any worse....

I mean my god, From the very second the film starts you know its going to be A trainwreck....The very first thing you see on screen is that AWFUL camcordered in Post Production Shot of Superman, With some of the single worst and most embarrassing CGI ever seen in a Movie, You can do nothing but stare at his awful lower half of his face in pure Shock....and to somehow make the scene ever worse, you watch the whole film and find out the scene had no real propose or payoff...

when you watch the scene, Its brutally awful but you cant help but think well they added that for a reason, it looks awful and is terribly out of place but its there for a reason, something going to happen where this scene comes to a effect...

annnnnnnnd Nope..nothing....the entire movie happens and its revealed the scene has no real purpose or payoff....

It truly is just stuck in there...

I can not think of another movie where Literally from the very first second the movie starts, They very first imagine you see on scene, It Proves the film is a Disaster...

anyways that just my opinion, I even film odd saying " ustice League has a legitimate claim to being the worst high budget film ever released by a major studio."

because to be honest I dont even consider JL a real film....its just a collection of scenes put together...

when Making a film there has to be a direction, goal and Vision...Justice League is a Frankensteins monster...there is no vision, no goal, no direction...Its the Product of 2 different film makers with completely different styles and approaches...

y'know, i think there's perhaps a good comparison in phantom menace & justice league, at least in my eyes.

in many ways, i think you could make a case that jl is a 'better' film than bvs or (jesus) suicide squad. it maybe is a bit more coherent than those two in terms of story telling, it's not as adolescently self-serious, and i don't think it has any truly teeth-grindingly terrible 'why did you say that name?' moments.

but instead of that making it a better film, i think it ended up being worse, because it's so blandly forgettable. i keep gong back to 'inert' when describing these films. bvs & suicide squad are both train wrecks, but they're so cluttered & silly & catastrophic that they're almost fun to view as hate-watches.

i can't imagine going back to jl again, because it's such a blandly boring film. the only really noteworthy thing about it is how cheap & shoddy it looks at times.

and that's how i feel about pm as well. its biggest failing isn't the kid-friendly dialogue or even jar jar. it's that it's so drearily, dreadfully dull. there's no drive or fun in it...even the digital effects that fill every pixel are bland.

both films ought to be brimming with drive & energy, but both just sit there like a turd drying out on the sidewalk in the summer sun.

Were you tempted to watch a New Hope after Rogue One? Just to continue what is essentially a cliffhanger for you.

You have to see A New Hope, especially after Rogue One. Come on man, did you see it?
