How this movie was made?

James Wan is actively trolling the audience?
He was high when he was co-writing the script?
His wife wrote the majority of the script and begged him to get it made and this was the best he could do?
He is blackmailing the head of the studio?
He claimed that New Line will greenlight anything he pitches and used this movie as an example?

Not the worst movie, but one of the most unintentional silly movie, with a wide array of plot holes. Does anyone else have any ideas how the movie was made?

he took that aquaman leverage and made a movie he really wanted to make.

i loved it.
i can't remember the last time a movie made me so happy.

yes, it's stupid and silly and holds up to the smallest bit of scrutiny like discount bathroom tissue in a waterfall.

i grant all of that.

i don't care. i loved this stupid, unrepentantly goofy movie and i'm going to watch it a billion times.

Yep. Same here. I had so much fun with this film. i I actually made the same observation too; I was telling some friends that I bet he's been waiting his whole damn career to make a movie like this.

Also, I'm not sure why several ppl seem to think that this movie is unintentionally silly.

I think they knew the film would be divisive. This is honestly one of the most ‘love it or hate it’ movies I’ve seen in a long time.

I personally didn’t care for it, I found the first two acts frustratingly dull and uninteresting despite Wan’s solid directing. The third act is brilliantly bonkers, it’s a shame about the rest of the film.

As for how it was made Warner Bros are just releasing mostly bad movies at the moment. Wonder Woman 1984, Godzilla vs Kong, Mortal Kombat, Conjuring 3, Those Who Wish Me Dead, The Little Things, Reminiscence, Space Jam 2, Tom & Jerry and now Malignant.

It didn’t matter if it was any good, they just had to put ‘From James Wan the director of Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring’ on the poster and people would watch the movie.

So I understand what you're going for with this thread, I don't think you're honestly asking how this movie was made, I think you're just trying to make a point you thought the movie was awful.

But if you truly are asking and wondering why a studio made this movie.... I must say that truly is one of the dumbest questions I've ever heard in my entire life, no exaggeration literally one of the dumbest questions ever asked

Literally any studio in the world would throw any amount of money at James Wan to make a horror film.

Wan wouldn't have to show them a script, he wouldn't have to tell them what it's about, he could go to literally any studio and say I want to make a horror film and they would instantly greenlight it.

and the reason why is "unprecedented, repeated success from James Wan producing incredible horror movies that are not only box office successes but many go on to be insanely successful franchises"

any studio on earth right now would green light any James Wan horror movie sight unseen, literally no questions asked.

So while again I don't think you actually were honestly asking the question how did this movie get made, I think you were rightfully pointing out the film is full of plot holes and giving your opinion that it's awful

but if for some absurdly stupid reason you truly were asking the question why would a major studio like WB green light a James Wan horror movie?... I want to say.......... honestly you just literally asked the dumbest question on earth and prove you don't know the slightest thing about Hollywood, business, box office or simple math.

Why would a studio green light a James Wan horror movie?

Maybe because he's considered the king of horror Movies Now.

Maybe because the movie SAW that he wrote and directed was an insane box office success that went on to produce a billion dollar + franchise that is now 9 films deep

maybe because he directed 2 Conjuring movies that were both insane box office successes That went on to produce a cinematic universe of at least 8 films so far and will ultimately be the highest grossing horror franchise of all time

maybe because James directed 2 Insidious movies that were insane box office successes and now is a 5 film franchise

Oh yeah and maybe because James Wan has directed 2 $1 billion plus films in Aquaman and Furious 7

honestly you asking the question why would someone make a James Wan horror movie, would be the equivalent of in 1998 someone asking the question why would anyone wanna sign Michael Jordan??...

Considering Michael Jordan at that point had won 6 NBA championships and was considered the greatest basketball player of all time by proving it in every way imaginable.

You asking how did a James Wan horror movie get made after Wan literally made 5 insanely successful horror movies that went on to launch billion dollar franchises with a minimum of 5 films each easily proving he's one of if not the greatest horror directors of all time

bottom line I hope for your sake I'm right and you weren't honestly asking the question how did this film get made because if you we're honestly asking the question... again you just asked the single dumbest question on earth

If you actually thought this was a serious question, then I do feel bad. The post was meant to be a joke. The man is a great director and makes billions for the studio. They would be crazy not to sign him. However, why did you ask three separate times if I was being serious in my question?

Nice novel. Could you gag any harder on Wan's cock?
