The Jail scene (spoilers)

Was the funniest and best part of this movie. Starting with the dialogue ("What the f*ck did you do to get in here, forget to separate the recycling?") to the transformation (both Madison and the faces of the inmates going from mean to scared shitless) to her walking backwards the whole time and ripping the women apart. Add to that the interspersed scenes of her step mom and sister getting the shock of their lives after seeing Gabriel for the first time.

I was literally LMAO!

A lot of people in IMDb are complaining about how over the top and absurd this flick is, but it's actually one of its strength IMO. I would say it's a bit like The Cabin in the Woods - not just horror, but also has lots of comedy, gore, absurdity and is brave enough to revel in its campiness to the end rather than try to tone it down or take itself too seriously.

Edit*: Also wanted to add that the music/score was great and reminded me of the Resident Evil movie series

I busted up laughing when I saw her just straight up kano-fatality one of the prisoners. I was like, "well, I guess she's a little bit stronger than a normal human"

Yeah haha. You got to turn off your brain sometimes to enjoy movies like this. I simply accepted the premise that if Gabriel can absorb electricity and affect electrical objects, he can perhaps recruit the reptilian part of the brain maybe to 100%, making her body a lot stronger and faster when he was in control.

I did catch the running backward during the 3rd murder when the cop fights him for the first time, but thought he was from the future or another dimension or something like out of Tenet. So the actual reveal in the jail scene of his connection wasn't too hard to accept.

People whine about there being nothing new in horror anymore but then also complain when someone makes an attempt like this. Can't please everyone.

I'm still so mad I didn't catch this. I was telling someone else on this board that, I just thought Gabriel was handicapped XD (maybe related to the surgery/operation from the prologue).

It's funny, when the credits were rolling after the prologue, and we got that "theme" song, I should have immediately realized that this was not going to be a normal movie.

this is the exact moment where i stopped thinking 'why are people taking about this generic, dull, nothing movie' and started thinking 'this is fantastic, goofy, silly, stupid and awesome and i love it.'
