Johnny Depp won. Shame on this false-accusing piece of crap.

I’ll never watch it.

He was confirmed by a judge to have committed 12 counts of domestic violence in the UK, you do realize that right. At best he's 1-1 in the "beat the rap for domestic violence " game. At the time he was 0-1. You can't exactly blame him.

reply

He was not convicted of 12 counts of domestic violence in the UK.

In the UK he lost his case against the Sun newspaper for calling him a wife beater.

Don't be a douche, there is a difference between lying and improper phrasing. He wasn't convicted of domestic violence, but a judge did say that out of 14 claims of domestic violence, 12 were accepted within the confines of the law. Essentially, a judge confirmed that he had indeed qualified as a domestic abuser 12 times.

I used improper phrasing, and I've corrected it . It doesn't change the fact that a judge said that there was evidence of domestic violence by Johnny depp 12 times. Sorry to burst your fanboy bubble.

I'm glad it flopped.

A great justice indeed.

😅 LOL, the second movie had Depp in it, and it was universally critically panned, and was a US box office failure. His absence or presence has nothing to do with the success of these films, but most of his work over the last 15 years or so, besides Pirates, have been HUGE box office failures, so him not being in the last one probably helped.🤣

reply

Mads Mikkelsen is also a very talented actor, but I think it's basically an impossible task to replace JD in a role like this after two movies. Unfortunately, the current rumor is that the planned 4th and 5th movies are unlikely to happen.

reply

Do you actually know that Depp was only in second movie and in first one Colin Farrell plays that role? ))))) I guess not. Depp fans dont even watch his movies )))

And that EVERYONE hated Depp in that role and were laughing at him and his ridiculous overacting and stupid hair? )))

First movie with Farrell made $234 millions in USA and $811 millions worldwide

Second one (with Depp) made $159 millions in USA and $648 millions worldwide.

This is huge decline despite Depp being in it and carrying on his fame. It made 75 millions less in USA despite Depp being main start and being paid lots of millions. Because Depp was finished was before scandal and has no box-office power.

He is finished no matter some verdict. He will never be hired in big movie because he cant bring money back. And he is probably nearly broke. Since he has no new income but lives posh rich life and those lawyers had to be cost fortune. And he cant take those millions from Heard too since she in not rich and simply doesnt have those money.

reply

Just wanted to say Johnny Depp was indeed in the first movie as well. Albeit as a cameo, but he was in the first movie as well as the second movie.

reply

There were also a couple of times when he was talking to Credence where they blended his voice in with Farrell's. I thought that was a really cool effect.

reply

Johnny had a teeny tiny cameo in the first film. If they had to get rid of him I think they should have brought Colin Farrell back.

Depp was cancelled because he hit her and thus is abuser. Which UK court decided. USA trial basically proved that she hit him too. That why both of them should be cancelled. They are both idiots.

He was the worst part of that second movie. His overacting and ridiculous haircut made him laughing stock. Mads Mikkelsen was 100% better and believable in that role. Depp was not missed. Everyone (except few thousands od Depp fanatics) hated him in that role.

Depp career is finished. He was flopping way before this scandal. He is too old, cant act anymore and no one cares to see his old ass at the theaters. And on top of that he is broke and wants like 10-20 millions a role. But then cant bring viewers to theaters to get those money back to producers.

He is clinging to that Pirates past glory and dreams how another movie will be made and he will be payed millions. But no one cares to see Pirates movies anymore. Just like no one wants to see endless Terminator movies. They had their time.

The point is - no one will hare Dep for any serious movie. He is still toxic and hasbeen. All he can get is small budget boring movies no one will see. Even his fanatics. Probably in Europe.

reply

Correct. Besides pirates, his movies are mostly box office poison. He's only Jack Sparrow at this point, and even that has lost its glitter. The last couple pirates movies were terrible. Most of his work besides Pirates has bombed over the last 15 years or so.

The U.K. Trial was a sham that limited a lot of things.

The U.S. Trial was more fair and it showed, with overwhelming evidence, that Depp was a victim of domestic abuse. Heard’s evidence was weak and not credible. Depp never hit Heard.

Depp has been exonerated. Public opinion is in his favor. If there is justice, he will get his career back.

Not to mention the UK judge's son works for Rupert Murdoch, who owns The Sun.

Not to in the UK judge's son works for Rupert Murdoch, who owns The Sun.

In the U.S., that Judge would’ve had to recuse himself to avoid any appearance of impropriety.

It was most definitely a Kangaroo Court, as we say in America.

I didn't think he was right for the character anyway!
