Sharon Carter...Cap and her shared a kiss in Civil War, eluding to the fact something was going to happen between the two, then Cap hops into the time machine, goes back to the 1940's and grows old leaving Sharon behind hanging much like Cap left Peggy hanging when he was frozen.

My own hopes for a fulfilled male-male romance aside, he abandoned Bucky without a word, and left him to live without a friend or protector, in a world where he's widely despised as a Hydra agent who's escaped punishment. And where all the other superheroes resent or hate him.
I think it's strongly implied that Bucky knew what he was going to do
He said he'd miss Steve ... for five seconds?
He was unsurprised when Steve "blew past the entry point" and appeared on the bench
He was also totally on board with Sam getting the shield
I think Bucky just wants to go back to Wakanda and farm hay
Notice, too, his metal arm is covered throughout the finale of the film. I'd bet it's a standard prosthetic because he gave the Wakandan model to Rocket.
True, she is also on the run for helping him in Civil War

shareWell I think the reason the screen writers went in a different direction was the lack of chemistry between Sharon and Steve. I mean, on the whole it was a lot better than the chemistry (or lack thereof) between Jane and Thor but it was still a bit contrived. I also think that Feige and company always planned for Cap to end up with Peggy in some way, so I'm pretty happy with his conclusion. Peggy Carter was also just a more interesting character than Sharon Carter.
