Where the fuck is Lucas Black?

According to multiple articles, Lucas Black was "definitely" coming back for The Fate of the Furious and would more or less be replacing Paul Walker and yet . . . he's nowhere to be found.

Why? I was REALLY looking forward to seeing him in this.

I was a little confused by that too cause I was pretty sure I saw him in the credits for this movie. He should have been here.

I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance. A review of the movie here-https://youtu.be/4xfnsgokSQk

It seems I remember him even making direct statements saying he would be involved and also that he had signed on for 9 and 10. This is a serious disappointment to me since I loved Tokyo Drift and have been waiting FOREVER for him to return to the franchise.

It's like the producers just don't like the guy or something.

reply

If he's on the credits, then he must have been paid too, or not?

reply

If he's in the credits, you'd think so. Although I'm not positive he's credited for anything. I can't imagine what he WOULD be credited for. The dude isn't in the movie!

Lucas Black is part of a pretty busy popular show, and he's not famous enough for anybody to shoot around his schedule. I also don't think the franchise is interested in building his star power, or replacing Brian. They're definitely letting the money get in the way of good story telling. The death of Paul was very unfortunate, but it created the perfect window for Black to enter the saga in a big way. But this is now a star power driven vehicle now.

Well contracts are contracts. If Lucas Black signed on for not just one but four films, it seems like he would appear. Those articles I referenced saying that he had signed on all the way through Fast 10 were less than a year old.

As for star power, sure there were some stars here, but most of the main crew aren't big stars. The Rock obviously is, but Vin? Vin's movies do okay if they're in the F&F or Riddick franchises, but otherwise they tank at the box office. Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, Nathalie Emmanuel. . . They're all B-listers for sure. Lucas Black would fit right in with them and like you say, with Paul gone (RIP), it's the perfect time.

Sigh. At least he is on a popular show and has something going on in his career.

Maybe they just haven't got the right plot to put drifting to the story. I mean, without drifting it would be pointless to bring Lucas Black back.

Maybe a mission that can only be completed by drifting cars into twisting tunnels or something, then Toretto needs a driver who excels at it. Who you gonna call? The Drift King!

I'm joking. I'm joking.

reply

Ha. As I see it, Paul Walker's gone and there's a spot to fill. Lucas Black is perfect for the job!

reply

the new spot is for Scott Eastwood who is taking over Paul Walkers role

reply

Well that's bullshit. They very clearly said in the past that Lucas Black would be back.

And Scott Eastwood's character doesn't seem like the type who's going to become part of the team, in the way that Kurt Russel's character is not part of the team.

reply

I agree Lucas black should definitely come back
