First two seasons were the best ones

Imho. But still a good show

I just finished watching the first 5 seasons a few weeks ago and yeah, I tend to agree, the first two with Claire Foy and Matt Smith were the best but I liked every season. This is some very good television.

Whether you like the royals or not, this is good stuff... I'll give it a very solid 8.0 out of 10. I will start watching season 6 soon.

Because they were about Young Elizabeth and we didn't really knew that much about her. So there was a room for wonder and unknown. And they were played by two sympathetic charismatic actors.

Then they jumped to Diana years, changed actors and it all went downhill. Since we all knew everything about Diana. And she just highkacked whole attention because Hollywood is obsessed with her dead corpse and won't let her rest in peace.

Still young Charles and Diana were somehow bearable.

And then they changed actors again and Elizabeth and Phillip were played by boring miscast older actors. And Charles was turned into Dominic West who looks and acts nothing like Charles. And Diana became caricature on herself as she always does on Hollywood projects.

And there has been to much Royal Drama with Harry and his D-list actress and people were exposed to it too much and are just tired of all that royal drama.

I do somewhat agree, the ones with West are the weakest episodes but I do think it still made for some good TV.

I just wish they could have somehow stuck with Foy and Smith for the older versions of the couple, I don't know, use aging CGI or something... the latter seasons don't quite have the charm that the early seasons had, there is some brilliant TV going on in seasons 1 and 2. Although, I do think Matt Smith is a little over-used now days, he's in so much stuff.
