Ali's role was so small

didn't realize that until tonight

It was small but you can tell this was a character who left a very strong impression on Chiron and also that this is the best type of male role model that Chiron can get and its sad.

I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance. A review of the movie here-https://youtu.be/mfTEbJWweOk

Chiron took on Juans (teresas boyfriend) appearance as an adult. He dressed like him, even looked like him. But that , for me, was the downfall of the movie.. The transition into both their adult roles (kevin and Chiron) were not believable to me. The casting was off (even though both the actors did a great job) they just werent right for the parts.

It would have been a better film if he had been in the movie longer.

(Spoilers)

I was very surprised about his fate and how he just disappeared without much mention (or any) about how he died. Perhaps that's how it's done in the play this is based on. But I really loved his character with the short time he was on.

I liked the way this was handled. A lesser film would have felt the need to show his death, or at least give us an explanation of how it happened. As it is, Jenkins and co put trust in their audience and we jumped ahead in time and simply watched lives carrying on after his death.

I did love the character of Juan and Ali's great performance - yes, his role was relatively small, but the impact he had on young Chiron was obvious and his presence was therefore felt long after he departed from the film.
