Where is this available? Hulu, Amazon, NetFlix, etc?

Can someone list where this might be available to view ... legally. Thanks.

reply

Nowhere except CBS All Access, after the premiere episode (at least in the U.S.).

On Netflix Worldwide (except U.S./Canada) on the 25th of September.

reply

As far as I know it will be available on Netflix on 25th September. They already put the trailer there.
I am not sure about other streaming services, but definetly on Netflix.

reply

Just the first episode, of the whole series do you think?

reply

Netflix will release new episodes weekly starting from Monday September 25, just hours after the premiere airs in the US on CBS.

The first season is made up of 15 episodes, the first eight of which will air weekly until Monday November 6.

After this, the series will take a break before returning in January 2018.

reply

Well, that is cool. I will take a look. Definitely not expecting much, but if anyone really wanted to do a good job with Star Trek there are plenty of decent scripts and ideas out there that could work.

reply

I had already answered your question about where to watch it a couple days ago. Why do I get the impression that I'm talking to myself?

reply

You were talking ... no wonder I didn't hear you.

I was just looking for whether it would be on Hulu or not. Did not mean any offense or anything.

reply

What country are you in?

reply

USA

reply

Well, just to reiterate, the show will not be on Netflix in the USA. It will only be on CBS All Access now that the first episode has aired on regular TV.

Nesi777 must not be in the U.S. if it will be on Netflix where he lives.

reply

Yes, I am not in the US. But then again I didn't know wheter the OP was in the US or not.

I just wrote that the Netflix was one streaming service that will show it, that I know of. But thought it wasn't necessary to emphasize that is only for Netflix worldwide, as I saw that you already wrote that in your answer to the OP. My bad!

Speaking of which, I'm just about to watch it.

Have you guys seen it? How do you like it?

reply

It's not your bad at all, Nesi777. It seems my original reply was ignored, misread or possibly dismissed by "others", which isn't your fault. I'm sure it was an innocent mistake by "others" upon seeing your reply. :)

reply

I've seen both episodes. I think I'll save my $6 per month, this show is not worth it. I breaks too much with existing Star Trek canon, especially the ridiculous Klingons. I'm also not interested in watching a show where half the dialogue is subtitles

reply

Yeah, I think it sucks what they have done to the US audience by showing it only on CBS Access, I am watching it on Netflix worldwide, so as I am paying it already anyway I will watch other episodes of Star Trek Discovery.

I've seen it yesterday and I'm not impressed either.

There is too much war and action, at least in the first two episodes, maybe it will change.

The set design and special effects are great and I really like it, but I just can't get in the feeling that it is set 10 years before TOS, it looks too sleek and futuristic that to me it looks like it is set at least 30 years after TNG. Which I think they should have done, it would be much more realistic. I don't know what is it with Hollywood and the prequels fad. Ok, some prequels are made ok and make sense, but this is not it.

I mean here it seems that they had much more advnced technology than in TOS and TNG, what is going on with those 3D holograms when they are communicating with other ships,
how come they had them and then 10 and 80 years later they were just using the screen?! It is stupid. Ok they might explain
it as a technology which was discontinued, like minidisc or betamax. :)

At least in Star Trek Enterprise they made it believable that it was set like 100 yrs before TOS. And I could buy it as a prequel unlike this.

And the Klingons... well, I think I would like them if they were some new race or if it was set like 500 years in the future and it was explained that they evolved or mutated or something. I really like the set design and think it is even better than in the TNG, and even the new Klingons do look better in a way but still I don't like it that they changed them so drastically. They could have at least leave them with the hair, to have a more Klingon look. I just can't get used to it that those are the Klingons, or at least the Klingons in the same universe. It feels again like some alternative universe.

reply

Only outside of the U.S., unless something has changed in the last 2 days.

reply

In Canada it will be on the cable channel Space on Sundays.

reply

No .... they don't really let Canadians watch Star Trek do they? ;-)
