New show sucks or another TNG?

I vote sucks. It's not going to give us the next Shatner or Picard that will hit the big screens. It'll die and be found in the DVD bin at Walmart for 65% off at the bottom under Tomatoes from Mars.

I'm not feeling it so far, but admittedly, I have not been giving it my full attention. I will have to watch the premiere again.

reply

Mass suckage detected, Captain.

reply

While I do not quite agree with your assessment I'm also not too impressed.

reply

Well. TNG sucked for the better part of 24 fudging episodes...

reply

It did become a phenomenon. Which seasons did you not like?

reply

The first season is shoddy, at best. DS9 was pretty bad for the most part of three seasons.

reply

The Orville, despite being a ripoff, seems to be the best made as far as honouring Star Trek goes. Who'd a thunk it plunk it.

reply

The Orville is quickly turning in to my second favourite ST show. The fourth episode was excellent.

reply

Yeah the first season of TNG wasn't very good.

reply

1. Excellent
2. Great
3. Okay
4. Fair
5. Subpar
6. Pathetic

So on that above scale, I'd put it somewhere between 'Okay' and 'Fair'. Plenty of issues with it, but some fun stuff here and there. First episodes can be tough on a new series--and they really shouldn't be, so we'll see where the ride takes us.

And for those wacking on TNG's first season--it wasn't that bad.

reply

I don't think I'll get over:
1) the new Klingons; throw out those cosplay costumes because lizards are in?
2) the tech and TNG looking ships are too advanced; at least Enterprise tried to make it look like space travel was dangerous and a struggle
3) no continuity
4) ah, there's more but it isn't worth it...this just isn't TNG, Dep Space Nine, Voyager, worthy.

reply

I doubt its going get any better. Not with a hack like Alex Kurtzman being in charge. The guy who though saving Kirk with Superblood was a good idea.

reply

How is he even getting hired!!!?

reply

I guess Hollywood is a glutton for punishment.

LOL

They fired Fuller and were forced to find a flunky fast.
