Why try to turn her into a Jason Bourne like action hero here. She's a computer hacker but she's also a very damaged person. If you're not really going to explore her background further (the stuff with the sister is very short lived) I don't see what the point of this is.

It is a different take on Lisbeth, that's true. And this movie is certainly not as good as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. But despite its failings, I still walked out of the theater interested in seeing another Dragon Tattoo movie, and seeing Claire Foy reprise the role.
