IMDB Objective Unfolds??

Just seen this and it generated a ho-hum reaction. Best director credit and a beautifully imaged film (too beautiful some would say) but left me wondering what all the fuss was about. Checked the reviews on IMDB and not one raging stinker, the few I read were in fact positive so, maybe its me.

Nonetheless I can't help wondering if this is really how the majority view this movie and fully expected to see some full on criticism. Remember how we all thought IMDB dumped the chat groups because early criticism persuaded folks not to toddle off to the cinema ...........

I heard a positive radio review this week. It seems kind of risky to me that imdb wouldn't publish low reviews. But maybe you are on to something! ALL THE IMDB's MEN!!

(Or, maybe it's a good movie that didn't generate hate?)

The Clint Eastwood version was creepier, more of a thriller. Eastwood had more of the requisite rakishness, and the women had more of the slutty badness to make this all seem plausible and to spread the sinning evenly around.

This didn't feel like a thriller to me at all. It had decent atmosphere but that's about it.

I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance. A review of the movie here-https://youtu.be/57XIMa9I9hQ

If you go back to the movies IMDb page now (a few days after the movie's commercial release), you will see PLENTY of very negative reviews.

Hey Jep thnx for this. That was sort of my point - the chat boards used to get a lot of early reviews from festival types and sneak peakers prior to general release which would often contribute to sinking a movie before its release. In the face of post release bad press it's hard not to allow negative reviews on the site and by that point there's no point in preventing them.

Too conspiratorial?? Ha Ha
