Hands down the best horror movie of the century

This is a truly brilliant, genre-bending piece of cinema. We have all been scarred by the countless poorly done remakes and sequels Hollywood has churned out over the years, but The First Omen is absolutely not part of that camp. It could honestly standalone as a fantastic horror film independent of it's parent-franchise.

If you are a fan of stunning cinematography, incredible acting and truly terrifying stories, then you NEED to see this movie.

Nell Tiger Free is absolutely incredible as the film's protagonist, and she deserves to be a huge star after this movie. She has got such star quality and likability and will honestly break your heart in some of the more harrowing scenes.

One of the best horror movies i've ever watched, absolutely mindblowing and creepy. For characters, settings and ambience, actings even the story. The most interesting that make me creeps just not from jumpscare or story but It make me feel what will be happens if this is happened before (In reality I mean).

A must see movie!

Odd I am hearing it is very slow and boring and that it tries really hard to be Suspiria and fails.

Well, I definitely noticed a bit of Suspiria (remake) in this one, but I think it works very well as its own thing. Obviously, it can't be altogether its own thing, being a prequel to the 1976 Omen, but it does manage to be a better film than that one.

In fact, I am not satisfied with this just being a prequel to the 1976 Omen. I mean, Omen and Omen II are pretty good, but The Final Conflict is terrible... So this film is really just hanging there. Good enough for a great sequel but already stuck with a trilogy that goes nowhere.

Century? Bold claim, Cotton, and I'm glad you loved it. Just finished it, myself and enjoyed it, but I'll stick with It Follows (2014), À l'intérieur aka Inside (2007) and Låt den rätte komma in aka Let the Right One In (2008) for my top picks of the 21st century for now.

The last one is definitely a good pick. It Follows loses it after the first "contact" with the monster (in the beach). It just goes downhill from there and the pool scene is embarrassing.

So glad someone else feels the same! I loved It Follows up to where 'It' (in the form of the girl) walked onto the beach. From then on it pretty much lost me. Such as shame. It was a great idea, and so much of it was done so well.

There are better modern indie horror movies out there, but this movie is really good for a big-budget studio horror film.

I felt this was just another "by the numbers" type of film. It all seemed so contrived like most modern horror. I didn't feel like anything in it had any impact.
