That Ariel/Halle Bailey looks like one of the Na'vi from Avatar or one of those weird mermaids/selkies from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that lived in the Black Lake. Maybe they're working on a crossover or something. I can't unsee it and it has been haunting my dreams :(

They had to use CGI and make-up to achieve this effect for movies before. Now we have them walking among us.

She's a talented singer but she is not a traditional beauty. She has a wide face with eyes that are set wide apart. I don't know if beauty matters for this particular genre. It might go swimmingly if she just has to sing but she might flounder if she has to rely on her acting skills. Some performers are considered triple threats if they can sing, dance and act. Bailey can sing BUT we'll see if her mermaid sinks or swims.
