reply

I think it is good to have blacks in movies, but not in remakes where the characters obviously are not. Like Magnum and Death on the Nile. But looking at the cast it does not appear to be.

reply

I agree. Should be more roles for blacks but not picked just because they are black.

reply

Betcha it'll be so PC that Roald Dahl will spin in his grave.

Because really, there is NO way to make the story of Wonka taking a whole tribe to live in his factory acceptable to modern sensibilities, so they'll make some complete nonsense that had nothing to do with the original story. And I'm a liberal, but there are limits.

reply

You're not ashamed to admit being a liberal? Why do you like to support open borders, inflation, high gas prices and defunding the police?

reply

Proud to be a liberal. But stop being a puppet and actually talk to a liberal instead of believing Fox News or OAN about what we supposedly believe (no we don’t believe in any of those things).

And as for the movie, if you’re one of those that’s so easily offended that you have to ask that question, then yes, it’s woke. Evolve with the times, or die with the past. Its not a choice. The population is getting more diverse over time, so it’s only natural that movie casts evolve with them. That’s common sense.

reply

So basically, you have no idea about what you're actually voting for. Because the politicians you vote for, all support the policies I listed above, plus more. I forgot to add, you believe a man should be able to use the same bathroom and locker room as your daughter or wife; as long as the man says he identifies as a woman

reply

No, you have a failed misunderstanding of what we are advocating for. A man who lives as a woman will not present the same issues as simply letting a regular man enter a woman’s restroom. Liberals support practical border security, understand the true reasons for inflation and how to work within these times, and most do not advocate for defunding the police. Sounds like you need to refine your comprehension skills. When you do that, THEN we can talk. Until then, I will pardon your ignorance.

reply

Like I previously said, you just have no idea what you're voting for. The politicians you vote for all support the things I listed. Tell the family of the girl in high school who was sexually assaulted in Virginia by a man, who was allowed to use the female rest room. Or ask a female sports athlete if she has any problems letting a biologically born male to compete against her. Tell a current border agent how the democrats believe in practical border security. You would be laughed at. Ask a person living in a downtown liberal city like NY or Chicago how the crime situation is. Ask them if cashless bail has been working out? Tell me why if a nation is 100% energy independent, like we were under Trump, how would inflation keep rising the way it is like today? You are one sick person

reply

Also you know Biden is only virtue signaling to the black communities when BLM cofounder himself says he feels the administration betrayed their trust and is now endorsing Trump.
And what should we say about bashing working anti-Covid molecules, like Ivermectin, letting millions die just because Paxlovid was around the corner (not to mention Redemsivir, for which they rolled out the red carpet, was purchased with taxpayer money, even though it is ineffective). What about the lies about the Wuhan lab research funding?

The Biden administration has been a wonderful success for big Pharma, big War and big Energy. But it has been terrible for not only the American people but also the World, the anti fossil fuel energy policies have pushed energy prices up, and the first victims are the poorest, who can now barely make a living.

And what about the censuring of the Hunter Biden laptop story interfering with the elections? What about the Russia collusion hoax? Or suppressing the information about the origination of the Nordstream sabotage? If not for Musk we would never have learnt the truth about the deep manipulations of your government.

For me pathological truth seeking and speaking (Musk's autism) always trumps pathological lies (Pelosi's sociopathy). In a way we are lucky to have Musk because autism and the physical urgency for the truth it brings with itself) is the natural enemy of and antidote to sociopathy. it cuts through the gaslighting and has no patience for professional bullshitting.

I am very surprised that as of late virtue and care for the weakest has been the virtue of the right, and that it has been the left that has served the lobbies without consideration of care for the world population. It used to be liberals were were demonstrating against big pharma during the California movement and protesting wars. How tables have turned. They make Trump look like a choir's boy by comparison.

reply

You’re such an idiot. First off Ivermectin does NOT work. Why else were so many anti vaxxera running to the hospital or dying because of being misled into taking what is essentially COW medicine.
The vaccine worked. Why else were 90% of the hospitalized people NOT vaccinated despite making up a large minority of the population. And you say Biden is big Pharma and big corporate. Look st your own party. They were the ones who tried to rip away ACA, with its protection. Their replacement law was so pathetic even your own party realized it was too bad to pass. A big corporate handout to pharmaceutical and health insurance companies while providing less coverage. So let’s hear it? What’s Trumps new health car plan? Oh that’s right. There isn’t any. He’s just a big damn idiot who only cares about himself. I’m done debating you. You’re such a damn idiot.

reply

You are terribly misinformed while calling me an idiot. This is the epitome of a new low.
So many things you write are wrong. Are you prepared to learn or are you going to be the type who refuses to believe the facts?

Even a simple check on the history of Ivemectin on Wikipedia will tell you that the medicine is used in humans to treat (1) lice and scabies, including in children and (2) internal nematode infections (3) Malaria, although not first line treatment.

As to not working, it was a misconception based on a communication from pharma lobby WHO that the effect was demonstrated in studies of insufficient size. So, when even the Big pharma say it works, it works!

The issue with WHO was that if they recommended the use based on the meta analysis, they would not have been able to give emergency approval to Redemsivir (a treatment that does not work) and Paxlovid (a treatment that is effective, but not as effective as Ivermectin). In order for a new drug to have emergency approval without clinical trials, it requires that no other more effective treatment be available!

However WHO rendered that recommendation in 2020 based on 17 studies and by now there are 240+ studies, including 188 peer reviewed and 100+ randomized controlled trials, all showing it is the most effective treatment. Of course WHO never revised their recommendation.

You can find the studies summarized and linked here:
https://c19ivm.org/

The page not only links the studies but also indicates an conflicts of interest as well as any methodology concerns as surfaced through Pubpeer. This allows you to avoid studies from bad actors.

You can check here for the visual representation:
https://c19ivm.org/plot/ibpall.png

I am baffled as to why someone like you who has no medical background and is gravely misinformed, feels entitled to insult someone like me who has read all of the main studies on the subject.

If you only have second hand information from propagandist media, you should refrain from making such unqualified comments. Where did I say my issue was with the vaccines? I only complained about the dangerous lies pushed by corrupt institutions, which lead to unnecessary deaths.

reply

As to vaccine defiance, the main reason is the corruption of governments by Big Pharma. which lead to overpurchasing and nonsensical policies. Most people would not have been skeptical of the vaccines if the policies had been better administered.

Sensible policy: highly recommend vaccination for 50+ people and people who are at risk. No vaccination required when antibody and humoral immunity is demonstrated, since natural immunity is more protective and more effective at preventing transmission.

Actual policy implemented: For everyone to get at least 3 vaccines irrespective of immunity status. Prevent people from traveling or eating at restaurants even if they have natural immunity. Fire healthcare workers who have perfect natural immunity if they refuse the vaccine. Suppress information on natural immunity being superior to vaccine immunity via Big Tech backdoors (as revealed in the Twitter Files)

Governments received money from the pharma industry to purchase large amounts of vaccines. For example in the EU, EU commission head Ursula Van der Leyen is currently under fire for corruption, which lead to overpurchasing and an obgligation for each EU country to buy the vaccine stock. EU countries protested that they did not need as many but were forced to buy them, leading to booster policies. Van der Leyen alleges that no contracts exist because the agreement was made by SMS, however she has since deleted those SMS. US government I think were at least smarter than that but in the end they also overpurchased and then had to enforce nonsensical policies as a result.

People would not have developed vaccine defiance or even hesitancy if the vaccination policies had been sensible and had followed the consensus amongst top scientists instead of Big Pharma recommendations. You may not know this but 10 big pharma companies have a seat at WHO, it was revealed 3 years ago by ex WHO EMEA vaccination head Peronne in an interview on French television.

Look at what I discovered:
https://talkingbiznews.com/they-talk-biz-news/business-insider-drops-comments-from-articles/

All those left leaning web sites drop their comment section because people were just fed up with the censure and the overhead to keep censuring probably was too high, being inundated with thousands of messages requesting lifting bans probably made it too expensive to run the comment section. I am loving this!

On the other hand, this allows those dishonest journalists to go unchallenged. I am pretty sure people will flock to other media to have a voice. Well done Business Insider for running yourself into the ground. More like this!

reply

During our last presidential election, many sites, including yahoo also dropped their comment section. You have to be a real special kind of stupid to still support Biden and the liberal agenda

reply

[deleted]

Thank you for noticing it as well. Big Tech went completely overboard with censure. Youtube lost themselves many subscribers with their shameless censure policies and now everyone is flocking to refuge media like X and Epoch Times for neutral journalism and democratic truth finding.

reply

But he is right, though.
Destroying Nordstream with a thermonuclear bomb was always going to raise energy prices and create inflation. The war lobies are the reason why the world is facing energy shortages. It is the Davos agenda, and also the current administration's goal to raise energy prices by stopping fossil fuel energies.
It is the war lobby's agenda to start a war with Ukraine when as long as German Chancelor Merkel and French President Hollande and President Trump were in power, had been avoided. This is because the EU had no interest in a war with Russia and had always protected cheap energy and peace through abiding by the Minsk accords. As soon as Schulz, an incompetent, was appointed at the helm of Germany, he let himself be bullied by the US to agree starting that war by breaching the previous status quo. US media try to downplay the role of the US in provoking the war but we Europeans feel we were robbed by the US of our cheap energy, just so the US could sell us their more expensive fracking gas. You leave policies to big energy and big war and you get wars on your hand! This my friend is why the virtue signaling of the Biden administration is so revolting. Especially the part where they do all of the dictator things that they said Trump was going to do. In reality Trump has been a stabilizing force for the world. He treated his partners toughly but fairly. Not backstabbing his own allies!
He is also right about the fact that liberal states, who were voting to host more immigrants are now turning Republican because of the havoc it has caused in cities like New York. People who were virtue signaling believing that it would not reach up to their protected areas are disillusioned because they were lied to.
Liberals are also undermining police work and authority by pushing and directing a narrative of systemic racism, instrumentalizing the George Floyd death despite the fact the court's verdict that it was not voluntary.

reply

1000% agree

The media are responsible, it is so infuriating to see millions of zombified people completely buying into the lies and manipulations of the deep state. They believe they are doing good by voting liberal. Fortunately tables are turning. I love that all of the Woke media (Disney, CNN) had to take drastic measures because they were showing messages that no one wanted to hear.

It all started with Musk and the Twitter files, all legacy and big Tech media went into panic overdrive trying to sully Musk. They know fully well that he is thwarting their plan to mind control populations. The amount of sociopathic rage from the entirety of the Deep State has been mind boggling.

I cancelled my YT premium membership because it had become impossible to speak the truth, whenever i tried to see my messages on another account, often they were not showing. Social media that prevent social interaction and democratic truth finding are not only asocial but totalitarian.

Now I spend my money on Twitter and already their video offer has become a valid replacement. On Twitter I don't have to worry that my entre 1000 word message will be silenced or get me a ban because I had 2 exclamation marks or 2 forbidden words. Selective editing of messages on Instagram just so they could get through was extremely tiresome. There was no logic to it. Regulators trying to compel social media companies ended up making the experience on those abiding platforms completely nonsensical. But the worst has to be Business Insider, they banned me from commenting with a fake excuse that my account had been impersonated. I have written them every 2 weeks since for the last 3 months and they completely ignore my email. I am keeping track of everything and then after a year I will go to the media with that story. When you go to those bastions of ill-faithed Wokeness they literally purge anything that doesn't go 100% with the flow of the narratives they are trying to push. It stifles all debate and is revolting.

Or suppressing the information about the origination of the Nordstream sabotage? Or the scandal of Twitter being a virtual FBI subsidiary before Musk took over, going as far as to suppress or deemphasizing political opponents during elections, interfering with democratic truth finding? Or ensuring renowned Harward scientists get censured at the behest of ex FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb to prevent the people from knowing that natural immunity was superior to vaccine immunity for both mortality and risk of transmission (how many healthcare workers with natural immunity lost their jobs in the US and France as a result?). Or pushing the lies about Putin having Parkinson and being about to die when your own president is the one with dementia, or the propaganda about the counter offensive when retired army colonel McGregor who still has connections in Europe has publicly admitted the US knew they were losing and only sending Ukrainian soldiers to their death. It has been very vile.

If not for Musk's Twitter Files whistleblowing we would never have learnt the truth about the deep manipulations of your government.

How tables have turned.

They make Trump look like a choir's boy by comparison. The US public have caught up with the manipulations, they have stopped believing the fake narrative Orange Man = Nazi, and that's why even long time liberals are fed up. Look at what they did to RFK? Absolutely despicable. The honest men get shot down under puppet master Pelosi's rule.

My friend, you have started to open your eyes, don't be on the wrong side of history! Woke ideology is filthy indoctrination to obtain the level of obedience and blind following, and anti-democratic suppression of political opponents that until now had been the preserve of autocratic regimes like China, Russia, Iran and North Korea. US is making enemies of even their last loyal allies and just running themselves into self-destruction for no other reason than big war and big energy lobbies.

reply

The instant Biden was elected it was entirely predictable that BLM would essentially disappear. They were a useful tool of the Democrats and most media to gin up hysteria that racism was running amok under Trump. As soon as Trump was gone, the Executive Office under Biden would want to suppress any sense of chaos in the streets, and that meant no more media coverage of BLM and Antifa grievances. What, did all those cops that supposedly shot unarmed black men in disproportionate numbers suddenly reform their ways due to the inspiration Joe Biden provided?

reply

They still sell that narrative, though. But people have seen the havoc migrant invasion is creating. New York in fire. I think the states that are most permissive to migrants, like NY and California are starting to get scared that they are getting more than they bargained for.

I also don't understand why Biden is now allowing illegal immigrants to arrive on US oil unhindered. Maybe they need more electors?

I think the current administration is entirely corrupt, Nancy Pelosi is pulling the strings and senile joe is just a puppet by now. They are destroying your country, sawing chaos with nihilistic glee.

reply

I think hard working immigrants are better than native born deadbeats, dumbasses, and "Karens", gas prices are low, and it was the Jan 6th rioters that dramatically beat down police and caused at least two to commmit suicide later on.

reply

The irony is it has been the liberal white Karens who have been virtue signaling and who are always offended on behalf of other people, who are now wondering why suddenly chaos has erupted in New York. They didn't really think this through. So I completely agree with you that Karens deserve to pay for what they wished for.

But we have the same issues in France, you probably see every major French city with burning cars and riots as a result of the Woke empowerment of immigrants which tells them that they are well within their right to steal what was stolen from their ancestors centuries ago. It is a bit of a self-own to be honest.

reply

I really don't think they'll have to make anything up in that aspect because the original story is enough. He was saving them from being gobbled up by Wangdoodles and Hornswogglers and Snozzwangers and Vermicious Knids. Now we'll finally get to see this wasteland that is Loompaland and what these fierce beasts look like. I just hope the CGI isn't cheap looking.

reply

In the original edition of the book, the Oompa-Loompas were explicitly African pygmies. Per Wiki, "After the announcement of a film adaptation sparked a statement from the NAACP, which expressed concern that the transportation of Oompa-Loompas to Wonka's factory resembled slavery, Dahl found himself sympathising with their concerns and published a revised edition.[10] In this edition, as well as the subsequent sequel, the Oompa-Loompas were drawn as being white and appearing similar to hippies, and the references to Africa were deleted." This shows that Dahl was not against revising his work if there was a persuasive argument.

reply

That does make me think better of Dahl.

I'm old enough to have read the original version where he took a whole tribe of African people to his factory and locked the doors, and even as a little kid I was like "WTF??? This can't be right!".

reply

I thought they were from Oompa Loompa Land and were escaping the nasty Vernicious Knids?

reply

If there aren't tall Oompa Loompa's I'm complaining. In fact why isn't Wonka black or a woman? I'm complaining. Actually, Why doesn't his factory produce potato chips? I'm complaining. Also, why is he still wearing a top hat? Top hats were worn in the past by people who didn't have slaves but there were slaves at that time, I'm complaining. Plus, the films title starts with a W, so does woman. This is cultural appropriation, I'm complaining. I hope the kids in it are trans, if not, I'm complaining. The sweets better be sugar free and use aspartame or I'm complaining. Covid...no I mean Ukraine...no I mean covid...you're racist, no I mean Ukraine, CoViD! UkrAiovid!

Sorry. Just wanted to try out what it's like to be a leftie. It did not feel good.
