$400m WW Jan 5, will exceed $500m

$500m if there is a big drop in 4th week, if the small weekly drop continues $600m is possible.

It's doing incredibly well. It shows that there's still a lot of goodwill towards the whole idea of Willie Wonka and the world Roald Dahl created. And it's a credit to the director Paul King too. Parents and aware kids alike evidently think he's a safe pair of hands after the Paddington movies, and the trailers for Wonka even looked a little like Paddington 3 with Hugh Grant back etc.. Solid film made by the right, trusted people makes bank and makes it look easy. Everyone's happy.

Fourth weekend drop was only 36%. WW is $466m already.

It's doing so well because literally nothing else interesting is in cinemas right now? It has no competition whatsoever.

It's still incredible for a movie that nobody wanted with a star that was terribly miscast and all the other hysteria that people tried to direct at it before it was released.
