It really grows on you

or at least it did on me. It is not crammed with one-liners but works very well with a few
punchlines here and there which makes me laugh out loud.

And I'm glad that Chuck Lorre finally arrived in the year 2017 with his comedies and added NO laugh track. It's a relieve.

Looking forward to the next episodes.

I love it. I think, just like Big Bang, it just keeps getting better and better.

reply

I agree that it gets better and better each week. The show has a great cast all across the board, from the family to his teachers just work great with Sheldon.

reply

The teachers are funny like when they were all drinking whiskey when they thought Sheldon was gone for good.

reply

I agree. I haven't laughed at sit coms in years, but this show is laugh out loud funny.
Like when he is in church.

It really does. I can honestly say this is one show I actually look forward to every week.

I liked it from the start of the "Pilot" episode. The cast is great (kudos to whomever hired Laurie Metcalf's daughter), the jokes are actually fresher than "The Big Bang Theory", it can be adorable from time to time, and it does have a bit of 1980s nostalgic feeling attached to it.

Annie Potts was a wonderful idea to play Sheldon's grandmother. The actress from the episode of "The Meemaw Materialization" (Season 9, Episode 14) didn't seem like the Meemaw I had pictured at the time. Maybe it had something to do with June Squibb playing a bitter old woman in a few of her other previous roles.

I didn't think Lance Barber (the father) was going to pull it off since he played a deadbeat druggie dad in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", but he did. He is such a versatile actor.

I'm glad Jim Parsons accepted the role as the older Sheldon narrator. CBS and Lorre probably would have went with the alternative of having Laurie Metcalf voice older Mary if they couldn't get him. Glad that worked out.

I can see why it was renewed. I have a good feeling "Young Sheldon" will be around for a long time, at least until Iain Armitage grows up.

Yes a funny and fresh show! Great cast. I am finally looking forward to watching a sitcom.

reply

I watched the last episode (about Dungeons and Dragons) but wasn't impressed. It's not my cup of tea.

reply

The only big laughs I get are Sheldon's stupid friend.

reply

The show would fall apart were it not for little Iain Armitage in the lead. It's not just in the lines written for him--Armitage naturally comes across as intelligent in the same way that Jodie Foster did as a child actor. He had a fairly promininent role in the Netflix film "Our Souls at Night" as Jane Fonda's grandson. I predict bigger projects for him.

Yes it does.

Yes, I like it too. It has a gentle humor that's very charming.

About laugh tracks though - The Big Bang Theory has a live audience when filming, so that's real laughter there, although I'm sure even with real laughter they have people encouraging the audience. But it isn't a laugh track.
