Tired of Ryan Reynolds playing a waterdowned Deadpool character in every movie

This literally just looks like a PG-13 more light hearted and waterdowned version of Deadpool. Im tired of seeing Ryan Reynolds do this in every movie he's been in since Deadpool.

reply

Ryan Reynolds was already doing a "watered down" Deadpool schtick for most of his career, so really Deadpool is just an "extra" version of his usual routine.

reply

What films have you seen him in?

reply

His "deadpool" character actually started in Van Wilder. He is really funny in that movie.

reply

And he's been pretty funny or really funny in every movie he's done that schtick in!

I really wonder. Is he the most limited actor who ever lived, or is he a good actor who's frustrated because all anyone wants to pay him for is more of the Van Wilder/Deadpool schtick?

reply

Ryan Reynolds is playing Ryan Reynolds. He doesn't have much range.

reply

That's not just a Ryan Reynolds thing. Most Hollywood actors tend to stick to what their best at.

Sam Jackson, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Cruise, Paul Rudd, Adam Sandler, hell even Denzel has like 8 different movies where he's the same guy in each one.

But if you want to see Reynolds display some acting range, watch The Nines. He was surprisingly good in that.

reply

Oooo I really liked The Nines! I am not a Ryan Reynolds fan and it's one of my favorite movies. I agree with everyone who says that he plays the same character over and over but at least in The Nines, the story was so different to anything he'd ever done.

I always get him confused with Dane Cook.

reply

Jinx,

I think a comparison to Dane Cook, with hurt his feelings.

reply

Omagosh I love your name! It probably ‘would’ hurt his feelings. I’m sorry Ryan Reynolds 😞

reply

This. It's their job. They want to make money. There is nothing wrong with that.

reply

Actually if you watched him since he was a teenager, you'd realise he's made a career out of impersonating Jim Carey.

reply

It's not as over-the-top, but I always though he had a Jim Careyesque thing going on too. He's a little more sarcastic and toned down, but same church different pugh.

reply

Wasn't as prominent until after the Deadpool success. He used to do more serious movies from thrillers to horror and the likes. Did some romcom too but I am not sure if he was like this gayish character-style of acting that he is now these days.

reply

It's all he's every done since his pizza place sitcom.

reply

Except for movies like Buried, Safe House, The Nines, Smokin Aces, The Amityville Horror, Woman in Gold, The Captive, Mississippi Grind.

reply

Well i've never heard of any of those movies.

reply

Well so when you say all... you just mean the few you have seen?

reply

yep. pretty sure that's how this all works.

reply

Well you don't have to write all... you could simply have said I haven't seen him play other roles since the pizza place sitcom...

As you can see he has done many other things...

reply

Don't forget The Voices...

reply

Smokin' Aces. That one is so good.

reply

Maybe a Ryan Reynolds movie is not for you. Maybe don't bother? Many of us enjoy his comedy.

It's number one in theaters already.

reply

Agreed. I absolutely love his humor. He's just great at what he does.

I could not really get tired of it. And this one, is no exception for me.

reply

Could be worse. It could be Dane Cook!

reply

I like Dane, he is really funny.
