Rocky's continued growth through the years

Adonis Creed has been good and I liked the freshness the new P.O.V. of this series took with the first movie but I also really like seeing the continued development of Rocky in these movies and feel it's some of Stallone's best acting. Agree?

Have a short review of this movie if anyone is interested. Enjoy! Review here - https://youtu.be/jDNo__sA8lI

Agree. I enjoyed the "freshness" of Creed even though it has a lot of elements from Rocky just rehashed. I believe Stallone/Rocky has done some of his best acting in Balboa and Creed. I certainly believe that Creed wouldn't be as good without Stallone as it's a huge part of the story.

I really believe Rocky needs his own movie again. It doesn't have to be a boxing movie, but the character of Rocky Balboa needs to be in another movie where he does something new and different, not even necessarily related to boxing. He's just a fascinating man. Let's see him doing something new and different in his old age. Some kind of challenge he has to overcome. Maybe he starts another new business, or maybe it's another love story where he meets his next wife. Just something where we can see the character really shine again. No boxing, no fights, just Rocky Balboa the man doing something he's never done before.

I think Rocky is still compelling in small doses. I'd be bored watching 2 hours of Rocky wabbling around all sullen like he is now. His character's soul comes from his love of boxing. Even if he's no longer in the ring, his wisdom from the corner (like Mickey in the early films) is the backbone of the franchise. If you take him out of the boxing context, it would be like taking Batman out of the superhero context....and just doing a feature-length on Bruce Wayne, walking around being rich all day.
At this point, as the baton has been passed, Rocky's presence gives the franchise its soul. But too much of his character in these Creed moves....would be too much of a good thing. He should be used sparingly. In that context, he's still very compelling.

I guess you're right. Rocky's not really Rocky without boxing anyways. Otherwise he's just really kind of a sad old man.
