Or just watch the original? Most kids are capable of finding stuff on their own without remakes, and a lot of parents introduce their children to the old films that they love.

I'm not saying there haven't been remakes for a long time, but it's just getting out of hand.

YOU SOUND AWESOME...NO DOUBT...BUT YOU WOULD BE THE EXCEPTION...MOST KIDS WATCH WHAT NETFLIX AND TIKTOK OFFER THEM AND NOT MUCH MORE.
FILM CAME FROM THE STAGE...IN BOTH FORMATS...STORIES ARE REPEATED OR RESTAGED THROUGHOUT THE YEARS FOR FRESH AUDIENCES OR NEW SENSIBILITIES...IT IS AN INHERENT PART OF THE ARTFORM.
I'm not trying to be snarky. You're assuming you know what all kids these days are like, but you're not a kid.
I'm not that unique, a lot of kids like the same things as me. They're not "old, forgotten" stories as you say. There's a reason most of them are classics.

The standard excuse for every dogshit remake. Only rarely is a significant part of the motivation to improve on the bad or mediocre original (e.g. Battlestar Galactica) or to do a quality update that makes sense to modern audiences (Invasion of the Body Snatchers '78). Mostly they're just crass money grab exercises by artless jackasses exploiting the creativity of their genuinely original and creative predecessors. share
