Plot hole or paradox?

If Sarah prevented judgement day then how did John get born? He sent Kyle back from the future, but that time line no longer exists.

His character seems pointless now in T2, all that work just to keep him alive was for nothing.

This movie makes no sense.

John should have ceased to exist at the end of T2 but he didn’t. Time travel is always plot-holey.

He wouldn't have ceased to exist if their actions in T2 didn't stop the judgement day - as is the case in T3.
But this rendition of the film.... yeah, it doesn't have much logic to it - at all. You should all be worried for the avatar sequels - cause I'm pretty sure Cameron wrote those as well (he wrote this moronic terminator sequel)

Because IMO, the universes of T1 and T2 exist in separate time lines. I have always thought T1 is the complete story and is independent of any other movies. This is how I see it - none of the future movies exist in the timeline of T1 and T1 coexists with the timeline of T2 but the ending causes an altered future. The reason I believe it is another timeline is because there was never a satisfactory explanation for how 2 terminators were sent back in T2 - according to Kyle it shouldn't have been possible - hence a new timeline . People can speculate how that happened to try to include it in T1, but it just doesn't work for me.

So I think DF is yet another separate time line with the events of T2 included, but with a different outcome. The future was altered but has nothing to do with the past.
