Well, it's not so easy to give scores to a show after only one episode,
what I can say is that I don't agree with IMDb's 8.2/10, seams like alot.
Will give it a couple of more tries.
Any opinions?

I'm like 30 minutes in ...and I don't like the "dark edge" of the hospital. How can I root for such a show/hospital that is filled with a supposed bad guy. Really? Then the main lead is a total jerk, but supposed to be so awesome.. it's not appealing. I'm quite bored and don't think I'm going to finish..

Yeah I agree. I mean Kari is supposed to be this jerk big fat tobiaus but on the Good Wife he was a winner! A real class act and now this oh &*))@$(_= come on now.

I was hoping for like a thing like I hope they serve beer in hell

I liked the first ep so far. Even though the main Dr. character is a bit of a jerk, he seems quite brilliant. We can't just have cookie cutter medical dramas anymore. You end up with the soap opera garbage that is Grey's Anatomy. Grey's was great for awhile because you liked the characters and it had a decent mix of medicine with personal, but not it's just a night time soap opera with really no characters left to route for.

I can't wait to see the story arc for the Chief of Surgery on The Resident. This could be really good.

I get what you are saying about him being quite a jerk, but he's like over the top of jerk and it doesn't help his character at all to me. I didn't feel there was much "medical" in this show - I felt it was total Grey's Anatomy when the resident's first thought's (to us) was asking his new guy Devon what chick, or guys he's into and then try to hook up w/ on/off girlfriend = total soap opera. Then Bell is nothing but drama...more soap opera.

Sorry, to each their own, but I don't think it was very good.

Watched thirty minutes of ep 1, and realized this is similar to the far-fetched 'How to Get Away With Murder'. Complete with the younger 'team' who covers up for their leader, and they talk in sarcastic one-liners....but there so good at what they do! Tired of this formula. I've erased it from my DVR.
