Some of the best television I have seen since Game of Thrones. It isn't afraid to kill off characters when necessary to telling a good story. That alone gives it a huge advantage--I hate plot armor. Props to the producers.
To the detractors, it's not quite the same as the movies because...um, it doesn't have John Wick in it. No one is going to be the master of death like him, get over it.
I love it.
The great thing about John Wick was never all those kills but the setup of this parallel culture. In this world you can easily re-tell every story ever written. And it will never be boring because the premise of this culture is so different.
I'm almost done with episode 1 and so far I agree. Heard about this show a year ago and wasn't interested. "No Keanu Reeves? No Stahelski? Meh," that's what I thought at the time. But I am pleasantly surprised.
