The agenda is real at the award shows

Swept the sag awards, now so far winning everything at the oscars, just watch every single actor win the oscar, watch it win best picture. Utter bullshit, others nominated getting screwed over due to Hollywood wanting to push their latest agenda that now Chinese actors can be big stars.

Literally everytime the actors are up for nominations i know they're winning right away at every award show, its no contest, this shit is beyond rigged. I don't know how the actors can accept these awards thinking they actually deserve them when its just Hollywood pushing their China agenda.

reply

Jamie Lee Curtis was probably the worst one nominated, Condon was robbed. Ke Huy Quan is a great guy, but he had the worst performance out of everyone nominated

reply

Yeah she legit won just cause she was apart of the movie that featured Chinese actors, no other reason.

She goes from that GOD AWFUL performance in Halloween Ends, to winning a freaking oscar? lol ok....Totally has nothing to do with the movie shes in featuring all these Chinese actors that Hollywood are trying to use to push an agenda or anything.

reply

Then why didn't Stephanie Hsu, a Chinese actress, nominated in the same category, from the same film, win instead of Curtis?

reply

Didn't matter which, they're both associated with the film, either of them winning is pushing the agenda, Jamie is the bigger name so Hollywood can push the agenda at the same time giving a Hollywood actress a rub.

reply

Condon was great in Banshee.
Nice to see a Vietnamese guy win. Haven’t seen the film though.

reply

You could call her winning as a lifetime achievement award as she's been an actress since the 70s.

reply

I agree, but then just give her the lifetime achievement award instead of giving her an Oscar she doesn’t deserve

reply

Barry Keoghan or Brendan Gleeson should have won best supporting.
I like this movie but it get's outperformed by all the other nominees.

reply

Anyone not Chinese or not in the movie doesn't stand a chance in these categories. Pretty racist tbh, actors getting screwed over and overlooked due to not being of a certain race.

reply

Also Puss in Boots 2 got robbed by Pinocchio, which again I like that movie but PIB2 is just better all around.

reply

Disney’s Pinocchio???

reply

Guillermo Del Toro's

reply

It is an undeniable fact that the Academy Awards are not always chosen based on quality of work.

reply

Ke Huy Quan is not Chinese.

reply

On all his bios it says "Ke Huy Quan, also known as Jonathan Ke Quan, is a Vietnamese born Chinese-American actor".

reply

He's American

reply

I do want to see this movie as I've heard it's really good but you're right it's so easy to see the agenda at each Oscars now. Just make sure there's less white winners.

reply

They literally introduced diversity quotas for films to be eligible to be nominated for an academy award and people still deny that 'diverse' films get bonus points and are more likely to win. Films need to be at least some what diverse to even feature!

I believe they also took measures to 'diversify' the voting body. Basically they invited more women and non-white people to the board.

The BAFTAs this year had a minor shitstorm because all the actors, actresses and directors who won were white. People were complaining even though the nominees were the second most diverse in BAFTA history.

That whole #OscarsSoWhite bullshit has damaged the reputation of these awards. Whenever a non-white person wins, say Jordan Peele for his screenplay in Get Out, it's instantly questioned in my mind due to affirmative action and bias. Same with films like Black Panther featuring at the awards. Prior to this trend I wouldn't have thought race or politics had anything to do with it.

I just can't take it seriously anymore.

reply

There are plenty of white nominees, snowflake.

OH NO...THEY INVITED PEOPLE WHO WEREN'T CRUSTY OLD WHITE GUYS?...THE HORROR.

reply

It's more the forced diversification than the fact non-whites are featured. Surely you understand that? You don't think I'm of the belief that only 'crusty old white guys' should be allowed to vote?

They should have had a more diverse panel to begin with, accrued over years with knowledgable people invited to the body. I don't trust that their diversification was handled properly, they just hired a bunch of non-whites and women to tick off boxes and look good on statistics, basically the ability to flaunt how diverse and welcoming the panel is and to show remorse for how 'racist' they previously were. You can't rush stuff like this. Flooding the voting body with new people can cause sudden and drastic shifts. Without proper vetting you allow idiots with agendas on the panel.

reply

Exactly.
