will people seriously boycott the show over Roseanne political views?

Personally I am looking forward that show and unless it's creator his accused of unforgiving crime I can separate the art from the artist but seems like people are really angry at Roseanne for supporting Donald Trump.do you think this will affect the show success?

reply

I don't think it will matter. People are going to watch.

reply

The ratings say people are staying away because they think Barr is a loon.

reply

The most watched show in 4 years and people are staying away? What planet are you from?

reply

You can't guess what planet I am from .... you are pretty stupid. People tuned into watch what happened to a show they used to like. Back in the 80's I thought Roseanne was pretty sharp ... now she is a friggin' loon. Go listen to some of the videos she's put up on You-Tube about running for President and other political things.

reply

That has nothing to do with her ratings. Is English your first language or are you just avoiding the question?

reply

I don't think people won't watch because of her political views.

It being awful and her appearing to be in need of an intervention in some interviews may cause people not to watch.

reply

I could care less about her political views. I didn't always find the things she did back in the 90's to be too bright. I still watched the show. I enjoyed it. I look forward to this resurrection!

reply

I don't think it will matter. People want to see her and the others again. Can't wait.

reply

Some Will. Others won't.

reply

I doubt it. Plus the first episode had Jackie & Roseanne with different political viewpoints. Isn't that pretty typical of a lot of families?

reply

"Isn't that pretty typical of a lot of families?"

It was in mine all through the election, and now? We simply avoid politics because we still want to keep the love and peace in the family.
Roseanne always tackled controversial subjects and handled those in very funny and sometimes clever ways. If people can't deal, they won't watch.

reply

Totally agree. I thought the first episode was pretty good. I can't tell you the number of times that I saw friends, co-workers, etc. "un-friend" each other on facebook and the immature name calling. There is no middle ground ... my friends are either far right or far left.

Personally I try to see other people's viewpoints. I may not always agree, but I will NEVER lose a friendship because of it.

reply

I always thought it was so sad when I heard stories of friendships breaking apart, or worse yet, family members no longer speaking. This last election, in particular, seemed to really divide people in the worst way. It's such a shame. This is the last thing our country needs. I don't care who anyone voted for. It's great that in this country, we have a choice!
Anyway, it's great to see the Conners again. Can't wait to watch next week!

reply

Did I hear them right that Jackie and Roseanne hadn't spoken to one another in over a year since the election? That seems like a long time for two sisters who were so close in the original Roseanne.

reply

Sadly it happens. I have friends who support Trump and a few have lost family over it. It shocked me but it happens. One friend had her brother say when he cut her off “Our kids can keep in touch with Skype but I won’t talk to you again.” I mean who does that? It’s horrible.

I voted for Trump and have family who didn’t. But I still love them, talk to them and treat them like family.

My grandparents were Democrats and my parents are Republican. But I don’t remember this ever being an issue. When I could vote my grandma questioned why I didn’t vote for Bill Clinton and I told her why. She wasn’t happy but she let it go.

But as I said some family can be very unforgiving.

reply

Don't you watch the way Trump behaves ... where do you support people are getting this coarse behavior. What kind of an ass name-calls his way to the Presidency, and what kind of holes vote for him.

reply

> Isn't that pretty typical of a lot of families?

Yep, but who wants to watch it on TV when they have a ringside seat? I used to not care, but now when I hear an actor or musician is right-wing I refuse to watch them again.

reply

Of course not. Donald Trump won. The map went red. The majority of people support her.

reply

The majority supported Hillary since she won the popular vote.

reply

Illegals.

reply

That's stupid. Do you believe everything you hear on Fox news?

reply

Only when it comes from Tucker Carlson. He's the best thing on all network news right now.

reply

It figures that you watch that liar.

Last Tuesday, Ralph Peters, a Fox News strategic analyst and a retired lieutenant colonel quit Fox "News" stating that the network was a propaganda machine.

"Four decades ago, I took an oath as a newly commissioned officer. I swore to "support and defend the Constitution," and that oath did not expire when I took off my uniform. Today, I feel that Fox News is assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers. Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association. Now I am ashamed...When prime-time hosts — who have never served our country in any capacity — dismiss facts and empirical reality to launch profoundly dishonest assaults on the FBI, the Justice Department, the courts, the intelligence community (in which I served) and, not least, a model public servant and genuine war hero such as Robert Mueller — all the while scaremongering with lurid warnings of 'deep-state' machinations — I cannot be part of the same organization, even at a remove. To me, Fox News is now wittingly harming our system of government for profit."

reply

Yeah, I know Fox News is bullshit. Most networks are these days. Still though, Tucker Carlson. Best thing on TV.

reply

There's a difference between news and political commentary on Fox. No problem if you're listening to him for entertainment. But it sounded like you're drinking his Kool-aid re: illegal aliens voting. Government investigations have already disproved widespread voting fraud.

"...Fox News Channel has been accused of biased reporting and promoting the Republican Party and has been deemed the least accurate cable news source according to Politifact. (7/19/2016)"

Above website is good for finding out bias of a channel or website.

reply

I hope you have the same problem with MSNBC, because if you didn't that would say a lot.

reply

MSNBC and CNN are political commentary channels, also. CNN likes to have people argue for entertainment. FOX just lies or omits information. MSNBC is biased too but I like that they can present interesting points and tend to be more intellectual. Out of the three, Fox is the worst re: truth. For a conservative viewpoint, I prefer David Stockman's blog.

For real news, I watch foreign channels or go to news services.

reply

The BBC is as bad as CNN. CNN is a the biggest joke on TV and MSNBC is close behind.

Love DemoKkkrat lemmings who bag on FoxNews yet have never actually watched it. Just read what they’re told to think by the DemoKKKrat media.

FoxNews isn’t perfect but it’s miles ahead of the Demokkkrat media when it comes to reporting all the news.

reply

"FoxNews isn’t perfect but it’s miles ahead of the Demokkkrat media when it comes to reporting all the news."

Talking about Trump 95% of the time isn't "reporting all the news" which is why I referred to the three stations as political commentary.

How many Fox hosts were fired for being sex predators? Fox news commentators aren't very articulate nor intelligent. They appear to hire many of the women because they look good rather than competency. My problem with Fox hosts is that they can't support an issue without deception which makes them incompetent and stupid. Sorry, my standards are higher than yours.

Most people in the KKK are Republicans and supported Trump. Trump's dad was in the KKK and arrested during a riot with police. Trump's recent support of neo-Nazis shows he's a bigot. Democrats are a diverse group. I know you're trying to be clever with "Demokkkrat", but it doesn't make any sense for the reasons I stated. At least create an insult that's appropriate.

Who said that I watch the BBC?

reply

"Trump's recent support of neo-Nazis shows he's a bigot."
Ah, yeah, the time he disowned them like 10 times...

reply

Disown in-between appointing bigots to his cabinet, instituting bigoted policies and making bigoted comments. His whole political career was started using bigotry. Not to mention his lawsuit settlement with the government for practicing bigotry in real estate.

reply

Most of the people in his cabinet are swamp monsters. His campaign was always about putting USA first by bringing back jobs, doing the best he can for every US citizen and deporting illegal immigrants. If you think the latter is racist, then I really can't help you. No idea what you're talking about with the latter.

reply

He and his father were sued for housing discrimination by the Federal government. Not surprising considering that his father was in the KKK.

Trump is the one appointing swamp monsters to his cabinet. Nepotism and brown-nosing. No actual job experience required.

He has no problem with his immigrant wife when she was working here illegally.

His political campaign was just BS. Repeating his numerous lies don't change them into facts.

reply

Lots of people get sued, doesn't mean the accuser have a case. It's also pretty clear that a lot of the people in his cabinet are there against his will. Citation please for various other claims.

Melania worked illegally:

"The documents obtained by the AP show she was paid for 10 modeling assignments between Sept. 10 and Oct. 15, during a time when her visa allowed her generally to be in the U.S. and look for work but not perform paid work in the country. The documents examined by the AP indicate that the modeling assignments would have been outside the bounds of her visa."

Like who?

reply

The majority of Republicans do not even support Trump any more. Just the ones with the loudest mouths.

reply

That's the way you want it. Both sides of the establishment hate him, but the people love him. That's the way it should be.

reply

Just the people that like the taste of lies

reply

More like the people that like the taste of results.

reply

I'll watch it just BECAUSE she supports Trump and isn't a clueless sheeple who laps up the idiotic liberal drivel.

Prime example: "Aduh, Father's Day should be renamed Special Person's Day." Another: "A man can be a woman even if he still has his wing ding and his DNA says he's a male; and if you don't agree you're an evil, transphobic bigot -- BIGOT, BIGOT, BIGOT!!!"

Get real (rolling my eyes).

reply

Barr is worth est. $80 million and will get a huge tax break because of Trump and she'll be able to pass her wealth to her kids tax free. Of course, she supports him.

reply

She also wasn't delusion-ed enough to support HeyLIARy Rotten Clinton.

As far as Trump goes, he's trying to (1.) lower our taxes, (2.) secure our borders, (3.) protect the citizens, (4.) create jobs, (5.) raise the GDP, (6.) take down the DC corruption, (7.) destroy ISIS, (8.) put America first, (9.) fix the healthcare abomination, and (10.) strengthen our military. What's not to like?

reply

"HeyLIARy"
Trump has lied 2,436 times in 406 days. Link to the liar's database:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/trump-claims-database/?utm_term=.72237c309bf6

"lower our taxes"
Only if you're rich. Their tax breaks are permanent. Working class crumbs are temporary.

"secure our borders"
With an over-priced ineffective wall that Mexico won't pay for? LOL.

"protect the citizens"
Only middle-aged white Christian rich straight males in red states. He's attacked everyone else.

"fix the healthcare abomination"
By destroying medical care for the middle and working class. He fired the VA head because Trump wants to privatize the VA. That means higher costs since privatizing would mean "for profit" so his rich friends can become richer.

"put America first" & "create jobs"
His trade war & policies will destroy more jobs than it adds. His economic advisor resigned in disgust.

"take down the DC corruption"
Trump and his cronies are corrupt and some have been indicted. He's sweating bullets because his day is coming. At least we know what he looks like in orange.

"strengthen our military"
By attacking Gold Star families. His policies already caused soldiers to die needlessly. That draft dodger is an insult to our troops.

reply

Hey, I'm a Liberal and I've never lapped up anything ... and that nonsense is your own drivel ... that is the problem with you Conservatives, you make up stuff and shun reality and the truth.
