Obvious from the beginning who the villain is

It’s funny how when they reveal who the bomber is, the movie seems to think the audience should be shocked. Despite it being obvious from the first time the person is revealed on screen, it could not be anyone else by processes of elimination. I wish Neeson would select better movies the last 5 he has done have been outright bad.

I already watched this film in 2015, no need to watch a second or third remake of it.
Neeson is a good seasoned actor but this is just regurgitation. They are out of new ideas.

reply

Is the original any good? This was pretty bad and lifeless.

reply

Yes, however, it is in Spanish. On IMDB, it is 2015, however, MC has it labeled as 2017.

Thank you. I might give this one a look.

I actually prefer the German remake https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don%27t._Get._Out!. It was really good in the first hour, just lost in the end when he catch up with the police.
I totally don't get, how they were able to mess up so much with the movie. So many changes to the bad, foremost the bad guy which is someone completely different in the Spanish and German version.

It is so ridiculous that the bad guy kills off everyone of his colleagues with a bomb (good idea) and then decides to get into the car with his former best friend to do the James Bond bad guy speech. Why? There was no reason. If he already grabbed some money from their stash, then don't tell me he has at least 1 million still hanging out. So there was no reason at all to get into the car. Because worst case, he had been free to start a new life without any legal issues, because Liam had got all the blame. But no, he jumps in to get all the money?!?
And then the police officer even nodded to Liam Neeson, despite the only thing the police here knew for sure is that he said, someone threatened him. Made no sense, he would be still hunted at that point. In the other versions the police at least was sure he had a partner and everything he claimed was totally legit.

I have used 5 days to watch this movie and it’s still not finished! I only manage 4-5 min at the time. It’s that terrible. Boring drivel.

reply

LOL. I came in with low expectations and still thought the movie was terrible. It says a lot when a studio dumps movie in theaters with a well established actor with zero publicity. I did not see one trailer for this movie.

This was one of the most predictable movies I've seen in forever. You could tell who the villain was the second he appeared on screen.

It's clear as fuck since the first chat on the tablet.
Every other "turn" in this boring shitfest is as predictable as it gets.
What an amateurish script.
