The reasons I enjoy this trilogy so much

I like that all the characters are the same throughout the trilogy, even the side characters remain the same actors.

The settings within the movies have this creepy horror vibe. The Perrons house in Rhode Island with the creepy tree and hidden/found basement was just a neat place. The UK house in the second movie felt haunted with that childrens tent in the upstairs hall a great scare factor in several scenes. Then you have the bizarre withcraft totem underneath the house in the third movie, the woods scene, the retired priest with a basement filled with occult objects (much like the warrens themselves had in their home) then the tunnels with the witch altar at the end. The vibe and settings of the movies are on point!

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are great and they feel like a real married couple.

I don't really like the series evenly.

I liked Conjuring 1.
I LOVED Conjuring 2.
I was underwhelmed by #3.

I think it's obvious what my favourite Conjuring is... ;)

After watching all three movies within a span of a week, I can write with confidence that the second movie was scarier for me and I enjoyed it much more than I did the first time I watched it.

I'll have to give the third movie another chance, but I felt it was the weakest of the three movies.

Since you loved the second movie, you oughta give this a watch! Its the real BBC televised documentary of the events at Enfield.

That's pretty much how I feel about the trilogy.

Conjuring 2's conceit made the film very interesting to me, standing out in a legion of similarly styled horror films.
